Can a Christian who is not a Baptist go to Heaven? -
06-25-2017, 06:38 PM
I got into a big debate about this with my neighbor, who is a Presbyterian. I am really hoping I don't have to see him and his annoying wife and kids in Heaven, but I know that's uncharitable of me.
The Methodists who live across the street are OK, I guess.

When Jesus tells us not to throw pearls after swine (Matthew 7:6), He's speaking of wasting time preaching the gospel to those who are stuck in their sinful, spiritually swine-like ways, people who will take what they can and use it against good people. I think though, that He also means not to waste our sympathy on people who want to go to Hell. So you shouldn't feel bad about your neighbor who obviously doesn't want Salvation. Let them rot with Satan gnawing on their intestines. It's what they want anyway. And besides, giving people what they want can be charitable, too.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

So long as they hate the right people and are full of shame, I see no reason to think otherwise.

I wasn't asking for opinions from kiddy-fiddling ring kissers.

There has been a flurry of posts from FD after a 4 year absence. Various explanations come to mind. "Just released from jail" seems to float to the top of the list.
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring k upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

I see it as realistic. We are Saved By Faith Alone - if you get the wrong "faith", you cannot be Saved.

It was rumored that GWB was a Methodist - I never saw proof of this in his actions and rather think it was a lie by atheists and the "liberal left", as Methodists are reviled the world over.
