Ben Carson Claims President Obama Wants To Eliminate Black People (Audio)

As usual, republicans aren’t letting facts get in the way of their extremist ideology. Every major news outlet has already debunked a video published earlier this month, reportedly showing Planned Parenthood Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, conspiring with undercover right-wing operatives to sell “dead baby parts.” Yet republicans continue to cite the video as proof of their bobble-headed bullshit.

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson is no exception to the rule. During a recent appearance on right-wing talk radio, Carson claimed that President Obama, Hilary Clinton and Planned Parenthood are all part of a mass conspiracy to “eliminate Black people.” As proof, Carson offered up the highly edited video, released by the bogus (and likely illegal) front organization, Center For Medical Progress.

During an interview with Iowa right-wing radio host, Jan Mickelson, Carson attacked the President for a recent speech in which he said “God bless you Planned Parenthood.”

Mickelson starts off the segment saying:

“I find it kind of odd that a sitting president would invoke the blessings of god on the death industry.”

Carson responded by stating that Planned Parenthood was founded with the sole intention of “eliminating Black people.”

Mickelson cued audio of Hilary Clinton, from a 2009 Margaret Sanger award ceremony, in which she stated that she admired Sanger, citing her “courage, her tenacity and her vision.”

Carson doubled down on his claim, saying that Margaret Sanger, who established the first US birth control clinic, did so because of a secret agenda to use birth control to exterminate the Black population.

Does it matter to right-wing fanatics like Carson that there is no factual basis behind anything they say? Not at all.

The right-wing’s fan base is made up of people who reject facts. These are people who want to be fed propaganda that fits into their world of fantasy. As long as the ideas feed into their hysterical religious fervor, there’s no need to fact check them. If it supports my twisted worldview, it must be right.

These are people who likely will never know that the video released by the Center For Medical Progress was deceptively edited. They get all their news from a single source which fits comfortably into their own worldview. Anything that challenges their false beliefs is immediately dismissed as “liberal propaganda,” or “the lies of the devil.”

On the bright side, while right-wing talk radio has poisoned many minds over the past several decades, the long-term outlook for hate radio is thankfully bleak. While many older people – mostly white males – are still clinging to the dial, people under age 54 are not. In fact, less than ten percent of conservative radio listeners fall into the 35 to 54 age category, while listeners under age 35 barely register, demographically.
