Default Strange Simularities - 07-20-2007, 07:22 AM

So, I was reading around the libray today and I found a book with a tittle to get me thinking. The book was called Iconical Worship, and on the cover was a picture of Budah. Now most of you may be saying "So what Satan, Devil worship" or whatever, but in Christianity Satan holds the same status as an icon of that religion. Its fundamental, show a picture of Satan to anyone and they say Christianity, same if you show a picture of Jesus-Christianity- they both go hand in hand. Now that being said, that means that there are two icons to Christianity, thus it is no longer monotheistic but polytheistic- or in lamen terms and by Christian definition- Pagan. Now Satan isnt directly worshiped by Christian followers thus making it hard to say he is an icon. However he is on the other hand a symbol of the Christian faith. The Cast out angel Gabriel known also as Satan is (in the bible) lord of the underworld. Being the oposite of God, he is infact a symbolic equal to the greek god Hades, who was said to be brother to the cheif god Zeus. As you can see God and Satan resemble Zeus and Hades. Also Another Biblical story rings with Greek Mythology. Zeus loved mortal girls, and on one afair a male child was produced. Now the Childs name excapes me at the moment, but I do belive he went on to do something heroic. Also Hurcules heroic son of Zeus grew up with a mortal father and mother. Both of these stories seem rather familar Dont you think?

Because I can

Where on Earth did you get the Gabriel-Satan connection? Someone's been watching too many movies I see.

The xtian religion is indeed based on Paganism in many ways, but not because of what you've just said. As a matter of fact, what you've just said has got to be one of the most bizarre mixings of myth and legend and names that I've ever seen!

Wake up and smell the 21st Century!!

Satan was originally a fallen Angel whom tried to rebel against God and take power for himself. I don't know if his name was Gabriel or not, but that's what I've always heard, I could be wrong of course, but then again I'm not the one who said it so I guess it wouldn't matter.

If you show one of your posts to anyone, they will say "spastic." Same goes for the Jabber Masher. Does that mean that Mongoloidism is now a pagan religion worshipping the two of you as deities?

His name as an angel was Lucifer. I'd expect you to know a bit more about these matters - he is your dad, after all.

O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

In theory yes, but Hades & Zeus were brothers and weren't at war with one another.

Ah well there we go. I'm sorry I did not know that, since I don't take priority in studying Satan. Though I am glad to see that I was not wrong about the fact that he was at one point an angel.

Well, you know your xtian mythology. But again you illustrate the point that teenagers, regardless of how much they would like to think otherwise, do not know everything. Xtianity was basically copied from various forms of Paganism. When and if you ever bother to do the research, you will be able to discover just how very copied it actually is.

I didn't mean to imply that I thought I did know everything...did I? As far as I know, I just replied to the statement with what I had heard, like I said the first time I could have been mistaken, and therefore admitted that I didn't know that what I said was true or not, it's just what I thought based on an old memory.
