How can we definitively say Jesus didn't mean for marriage eventually to be between a man, his third wife, and several porn stars? I think maybe Jesus led President Trump to pay Stormy Daniels to be quiet because He knew the liberals would take it the wrong way and turn it into something it's not. We should not test the LORD by demanding answers to irrelevant questions like why He would personally put someone who likes to get spanked with a rolled up magazine with his face on the cover by a porn star who reminds him of his daughter while his third wife is at home caring for their 4 month old baby in office. It's not like she was a he. I mean, let's keep it in perspective here.

Amen! Despite all the negative news that has come out about Trump, and I am not sure which of is it true or not there is one thing I can say for sure. Trump is the straitest President we've ever had in office.

That is an interesting point, Brother Bathfire. The practice of harlotry is denounced a lot in the Bible, but frequenting a harlot doesn't seem to be strongly condemned at all.


In the Bible story that you reference above, Judah's DIL wasn't going to be burned alive for actually being a harlot*, but for playing the harlot. She was a member of Judah's household, temporarily between immediate supervisors, i.e. a husband, but still under household ownership, as it were.


Pimping herself out was like givin' away the goods of the household. It reflected badly on Judah and his standing in the community when the news got out.


When Judah found out that he had been her client, he felt bad--not for wanting to burn her--but for not settling her with another son for a husband, which was God's Law. Basically, as her senior supervisor, he dropped the ball, and that was her point. And that right there proves that women crave the structure that God's Word with its clear hierarchy of authority provides.


*If being burnt alive was the standard sentence for being a harlot, there would have been a lot of stinky fires, and no harlots for any man to "go in unto". I may be in need of correction-- (Of course I am. I am a woman trying to explain the Bible.)-- but only women with no protective or moral affiliation with a man could be allowed to "ply the trade", so to speak. Any woman with a husband or father or brother to disgrace would be subject to swift and severe punishment, which was Judah's point when he pronounced judgment over his DIL.


All in all this is a wonderful morality tale brought to us by God's Holy and Unchanging Word®. Each of the principal participants has an excellent point, and we learn the need to back up our understanding of God's Law by knowing the WHOLE Bible, so that unique situations can be handled and resolved in a way pleasing to the Lord.

With regard to the whole condemning of the harlot part of the conversation, I have to wonder, does "porn star" count as harlot? I mean, it's clearly a different career path. One includes cinematography and the other does not. The Bible doesn't say anything about cinematography. The Holy Bible doesn't say anything about jet planes and we know how the LORD enjoys blessing certain favorite people with such things. Who's to say He doesn't want to bless His Trump of God on Earth, The Donald with certain, Biblically Silent Blessings?

Also, I don't want to speak badly of the First Lady or anything, but if she couldn't keep her husband interested, perhaps the Lord Almighty Himself decided to supernaturally intervene. President Trump (I still get teary-eyed when I say that) has every right to his life prior to his presidency. No matter what he did in the past, his vision for the USA is noble and will be far-reaching. He's already gained the respect of leaders like Putin, and that's not easy to do. Why should we question his ability to deal with affairs, foreign and domestic, just because he did what a normal, wealthy hetero male often does without anyone learning of it?

No, I say we must put this story aside and instead focus on more important matters like getting the wall built, ridding our country of lesser races and false religions, and establishing immigration laws that keep out the people our President wants to keep out. For too long we've let nasty folk into our border towns and it didn't take long for them to penetrate our inner regions, coming into places where it was unusual and almost taboo. It's time to clean up our land and stand up for our ways.

These were priorities for Joshua too. And one way to achieve that would be the scorched earth policy. But Joshua did something else. Your advice would be helpful, not personally you understand, but in a general sense all those categories of marriage. And let's face it God was directing these lives and many of the individuals are held up as examples of righteousness and as men of faith. There are other people who are described as more-or-less heathen wretches whose antics God overlooked due to their ignorance or due to coming from an unenlightened society or something like that. I'm not referring to those. I'm referring to the paragons presented by God as held high in His esteem. Within those marriages were all parties married to one another? Or was only the husband participating in a plural marriage?

Perhaps I should ask one of The Pastors but it seems rather trivial for them or they may think I'm backsliding and you seem to have looked into the question a little more than me. Thanks, Mary.
