Is it too late for me? -
06-27-2010, 05:11 AM
I've been reading a lot of the threads posted here, mostly Godly men wanting Godly wives who will submit themselves to them (as is the will of our heavenly Father). I was engaged for a short while to a man whom I thought was Godly, but turned out that he was a genuine sinner who wanted to lead me away from God. He tried to prevent me from doing the work of God, so I left him. This was about two weeks ago.
I'm going to be 22 years old next week and I'm worried that I'm already too old for marriage. I highly regard the opinions of well seasoned Christians like yourselves. Do you think I'm too old for a Godly man to want me? Is God punishing me for almost giving myself to a sinful man? Should I put aside the idea of marriage for me and accept the fact that I'm probably going to stay single forever?
I Corinthians 7:7-8 "For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I."
I Corinthians 7:32-34 "But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband."
Please help. Also, your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Pamela, you're still young and I am going to pray that you meet a nice Christian boy who you can love. It's the least that I can do for you.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Pamela, I was 35 and had resigned myself to the life of an old-maid before I was blessed with a husband. I pray that you do not wait that long as I had many difficulties submitting to my husband. Seems that by 35 I had become set in my own ways.
I still suffer from twitches when my husband decides something should be done differently than I think it should be done, I've just learned to keep my mouth shut (most of the time).

That's definitely something I'm worried about - that if I'm a lot older I'll have already become set in my ways and that I'll have far to much difficulty changing them for my husband's sake. =(

Rebekah and I were 24 when we took our vows. You still have time. I would have sought out a help-meet earlier in life, but there were certain behaviors I had to overcome first.
If all of the good Christian boys in your congregation seem to have been married off by 18, I would encourage you to seek out a certified Ex-Gay©. It is important that they find a wife soon after the reorientation therapy is finished.
You have many prime childbearing years ahead of you. Rebekah and I are on a 9-months-on, 3-months-off rotation, and she had given me sons every year for the past five years. We conceive again in July!
When you have children of your own, you should consider arranging their betrothal with the children of other upstanding Christians you know personally. My eldest three sons are already engaged to the daughters of my buddy Earl, and they will be married when they turn 15 (check your state's laws). This will be a blessing to them, as they will have no need to go through anxiety such as that which you are experiencing now.
My family and I will certainly keep you in our prayers.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Can't your Pastor or your father help you with this?
I will pray for you.

Seeing as how I live in the sinful city of Los Angeles, very few homosexuals here have converted. In fact, many "churches" have sprung up that allow homosexuals to be a part of their congregation without requiring any sort of therapy! What blasphemy!

Again, because I live in Los Angeles, so many boys and men are forced to become homosexual by the democrats, liberals, and feminists here. It's difficult to find a good Christian man. They get snatched up so quickly. My pastor is on the hunt, but they come so few and far between here.
I feel like God is punishing me for my sin. It's been two weeks and we still haven't found anyone suitable! If that is the case, I will take my punishment willingly and silently, because I do deserve it.

That never occurred to me!
My daddy is originally from Alabama. What prompted him to move out here to this God-forsaken state, I'll never know. Of course, it's not my place to question his doings.
Perhaps I should visit my relatives in Alabama and see if they know any Christian, single men?

TTP,
I would never think of talking to you as your father would but maybe a bit of advice from an older man might be insightful.
I have visited your video page several times in the last few weeks and I have left words of encouragement when it seemed you were down. Have you considered that you might scare off many males with your overt intelligence? Some of the questions you bring up are deep, possibly too deep for most young men.I remember your clip on the author of the Bible, when you said ''think about it''I had chills run down my spine
I personally feel that the right young man for you will be found in the ranks of the future Baptist Clergy.Look for a newly ordained Pastor or a fellow in his last year of study. There is no shame in a long engagement either, ask Pastor Zeke.
Speaking of engagements, any True Christian male will have prepared for the first ''date'', be it a meal together or sharing a hymnal at church with the intention of marriage, by prepurchasing an engagement ring. Personally If I had a daughter I would ask to see the ring when the prospective male is introduced to me. If you are in a situation with no male family member in the area I feel you have every right to see the ring yourself, how else will you know if the fellow's intentions are honorable.
Keep your chin up,
YIC
P.S.-You might consider a visit to Freehold in July for the ''Stonefest2010''. There will be quite a few eligible young men with rings in their pockets in town for the celebration.
1 Chronicles 16:15
Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations ... an everlasting covenant.
Proverbs 30:5,6: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Most certainly not! 22 years of age may seem geriatric compared to the Biblical marriages that took place at puberty, but they lived hundreds of years and had many offspring to begat in order to be fruitful and multiply. They had to get an early start in order to populate the earth!
We had a fellowship this morning and your Godly videos were part of the Bible Study group afterwards. I can state unequivocally that there are many fine young men of Christ that would take you as their life-mate for Him!
No fewer than 6 Christian men related to me that, as soon as they got home, they would need private prayer sessions to fully understand the heights that the Holy Spirit had been stirred to. It was a sight to behold! Fine Christian men so moved by a woman that they appeared to be bursting at the seams with the Good News® and so anxious to share it with you, if only they could.
Rest assured that you will find a man. They are out there and so willing to exchange Him with you!
Yours in Him and may He be in You!
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Re: Is it too late for me? -

I think Brother Aim has a good point here. The Bible teaches:
1 Corinthians 14:34-35:
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Of course, this does not apply to YouTube videos, but you must understand, many True Christian™ Men aren't used to women speaking anywhere outside of their own homes, let alone women debating and defending Biblical points. Here at Landover, at least, only men speak eloquently about the Bible.
So, I think that it might just be that they are somewhat confused by your appearance. Maybe it is just a process of getting used to you. When I first saw your YouTube videos, I had to get used to it as well, but hearing all those Biblical Truths made me realize that you were a fine woman. I have good hope for you, Sister!
Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
Praised be Your Glorious Name™.
Amen.
