For saying "that's all that matter" you get pretty excited with your Satanic science.
I suppose that knowing that "The Lord and Lady" are completely authentic is quite convenient - you can just drop them when you have no further use for them.
Fortunately, this means that you could come to Jesus and simply repent your past worshipping of false gods.

I'm surprised you didn't repeat the mormonic "scientific" belief that the moon doesn't give off light, in clear contradiction of the Genesis passages posted. All your "rational" arguments are just another system of faith, believing that satanic science as if it were truth, when the only Truth is found in the Bible.

This has already been addressed. The "other planets" are small asteroids which orbit the Earth, providing the lights in the sky as God described in His Word.

Well, if they're closer than 500 miles to the sun, they'd be warmer than Earth, wouldn't they?

5039.6° K is very hot -- almost 9000° F. That temperature is hot enough to melt any element, and hot enough to boil nearly any element. It's literally hotter than Hell, which is somewhere between 389° K and 717° K.
How hot do you think the sun is, friend? Please cite your sources.
In the mean time, why don't you look at this page, scroll down a bit to the "Spectral Classes" table, and tell me how hot it says the surface temperature of a yellow star is?

I give you hard numbers and scientific facts, and that's the best rebuttal you've got? This forum is for grownups, sweetie pie. Why don't you come back when you are capable of contributing to the discussion.

Well, maybe a wee bit hotter, if you believe sources like Wikipedia:
Quote:
The Sun has a spectral class of G2V. G2 means that it has a surface temperature of approximately 5,780 K (5,500 C) giving it a white color that often, because of atmospheric scattering, appears yellow when seen from the surface of the Earth.

Pastor, if the Wickedpedia measurement is accurate, how much difference would that make in your calcuation? Could the sun be as much as 600 miles away?

If the sun were that hot, it would be blue-green instead of yellow.
But if it were correct, the sun would have to be 568 miles away, rather than 495 miles, to give us the average global temperature we have.

Re: The Sun: Millions of miles away? -

I've done a little more ciphering, and I've figured out how big the sun is.
With a focal point of 1 meter, the sun appears to have a radius of 1 cm. We can use this information to calculate the angular degrees.
x = 1.000 m
y = 0.010 m
Θ = arctan(0.010/1) = 0.573°
So, given that we know that the distance to the sun is 791.9 km, we can find the radius like this:
791.933 km = r * cos(0.573°)
791.933/cos(0.573) = r
r = 791.973
y = 791.973 * sin(0.573)
y = 7.919 km
The radius of the sun is 7.919 km, which means it is about 10 miles across.
A ten-mile ball of fire! No wonder the sun is so hot! The firmament must be made out of some super strong material to be able to withstand being so close to such a thing for 6,000 years. Can you imagine if our troops had body armor made out of that stuff?

No one has followed your research more closely than I; I check every hour to see if there is an update - this is excellent stuff; lectures such as one might receive at the postgraduate level in a Christian University and for free!!! Praise!

Pastor, I must echo the sentiments of Brother Ezekiel. Perhaps your next ciphering can determine if the sun is made out of regular coal or is burning that new clean coal that Obama hates so much. Or is it just burning extra hot with Holy Fire?

It's the high-sulphur coal, but it doesn't matter. It's so hot there is complete combustion and no residue of unburned components. The sulphur reacts with all the other stuff, turns to iron and sinks to the bottom, pushing more coal up.

Thank you, I was wondering why the sun didn't shrink but I had just been assuming God kept it the same size, I should have realized His planning was perfect He didn't need to keep adding coal, or have coloreds to do it like the furnace in my house.
