Not New, But Gone for a Season -
07-26-2014, 07:25 PM
My loving and kind brethren in Jesus:
It has been a long time since I have rejoiced in Christ's salvation with you. Those of you that remember me will also recall the trials and tribulations I was enduring at the hands of my late wife. Facing her sin and refusal to obey me while trying to raise my sons was almost unbearable. But God is a faithful God and He provided me with an answer to those trying times.
I sent my late wife on a cruise to Alaska. Not far from the shores, a whale caught her attention, I'm told, and while leaning over the rail to get a photo, she fell into the water where the whale immediately swallowed her whole, a la Jonah and the great fish. It was not in God's plan to have the whale spit her out (Glory!) so the boys and I have moved on. I married my current wife, Angela, just four weeks ago and we remain on our honeymoon in Seychelles. The boys are with my parents. Blake is playing on a summer baseball league in our new home city of Lynchburg, Virginia. Franklin is mowing lawns to earn money for sports equipment he'll need when school begins again. My twin boys Austin and Daniel are ready for third grade in the fall, and Mansfield Jr. tested out of first grade after finishing kindergarten - he'll be in 2nd grade at a gifted school not far from Liberty University.
I joined a practice with four other doctors. All of them are Christians and we gather each morning to pray for our patients prior to the start of our day. It is a true blessing when sometimes the patients call to cancel because they are miraculously healed through our prayers. Isn't our God just incredible?
I left godless Portland - praise God's providence. In Lynchburg, many faithful Baptists are to be found. Blake is hopeful of a scholarship to Liberty University one day. My amazing wife, Angela, is a beautiful woman and a faithful servant of God. She has been out sunning herself on the deck of our oceanfront condo with some neighboring tourists for the past two hours. She has been reading the Bible and witnessing to the man in the next door unit every night from about 8 PM until midnight. I just praise Jesus she can spread the love God has given her like that. I pray this man will accept Jesus as savior soon so Angela and I can spend some marital time together before we leave for Lynchburg next week. He was kind enough to show her around the island quite a lot this past week while I volunteered at the local hospital. God is good to send people into our lives like that, don't you think?
I hope my return is welcome and that you'll pray for my new marriage and of course my lovely family. I have missed you.

1 Corinthians 10:13 may provide a slight help here, in saying that you will never be tempted more than is bearable. As so your late wife left before she could tempt you to far into a life of sin.

I trust that your children are at a very well trusted school? In my opinion, it is always best to homeschool children, just in case. Did you know that in Australia, it is a legal requirement for students to learn evolution!!

That is absolutely wonderful indeed! It perfectly shows how God will answer the prayers of those He has chosen for heaven. That sounds absolutely lovely! I'm very glad to hear about how we can now say with near-certainty that you are heaven-bound.

Welcome back, doctor. I do recall the terrible things your late wife put you through, and am gratified to see you now witness to the loving-kindness and mercy of the Lord. Through tragedy comes such sweet blessings for those who know how to please the Lord (2 Corinthians 9:6)! Why, you're just like a modern day Job, a man who never lost sight of the value of praising God even as He took everything valuable from him and made his life a living hell.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Welcome back!
I'm just glad to see that God is getting whales to take care of things again. I think your wife and Jonah are the only two times He has seen fit to use that method.
It would be AWESOME if He turned a few people in to pillars of salt!

Hello Dr. Mansfield,
I know it is not my place to question a man, much less a man as knowledgeable about you, but when there is the saving of souls and children involved, I am a little concerned. Have you thoroughly investigated the school, teacher, principal, demographics, and material your children will be taught? Is it at a Baptist school, with True Christians? I pray that you are not sending them to public school. Personally, I was homeschooled and will homeschool my children when the time comes; on He knows what those liberals would instill in their sinful, little brain, heart, and soul.
Yours in Christ,
Elizabeth

Sister Elizabeth,
I do not mind your question whatsoever. The subject of home schooling is a sore one with me since my former wife, the late Mrs. Mansfield, was going to home school our delightful children. We made plans for this, including the purchase of materials and performing much study to be sure that we would provide educational experiences that would permit future opportunities for our young ones.
Prior to my former wife's mental disintegration, when she allowed demons to enter her and then daily tried to spit in Jesus' face, I began noticing that she had a lack of interest in anything regarding the children. Our youngest would indicate a need for affection and she would place him outside on the back steps so the neighbors' dog could lick him. While this pleased the child, I began to suspect that the woman was somewhat disinterested in being a loving mother. Once, when Jennifer left the child outside on a particularly rainy Portland evening - with the neighbors' dog nowhere to be found - I put a stop to this practice and scolded Jennifer quite soundly. As many here can attest, I was not as strong as I should have been with my discipline.
I agreed to allow my boys to attend public schools, but only after much due diligence was performed. I insisted upon having baptized, Bible believing teachers for my precious offspring. I remained watchful for any signs of liberalized education and found none. However, in Portland, it is very difficult to find the level of sanctity that a father hopes for when raising his sons.
Following the convenient death of my spouse, I was able to marry my current help-meet. While she would adore home schooling our soldiers for Christ, it is much easier in this area of Virginia, where the influence of great men like Jerry Falwell has resulted in a Baptist church on almost every block, to locate solid, Bible-based education for the youth.
How kind you are to be concerned, my lovely sister in the Lord. I pray that the man you marry will respect you, honor you, and discipline you lovingly all the days of your life. May Jesus forever live in your heart.
Dr. Mansfield
(If you need pre-marital examinations, I would be pleased to do these for you with your Mother present in the exam room. Just let me know!)

Dear Dr. Mansfield,
I am glad to hear that your sons are in a good Christian environment and that your wife is a wonderful, God-fearing, husband-obeying woman! What a gem she must be! If you ever need any assistance in providing Christian teaching, I can ask the principal of our Baptist school for materials he would suggest. How I love teaching and raising children to be true soldiers for Christ.
Your former wife's mental descent disgusts me. I mean no offense to your character and integrity since you did marry her, but a woman who does not care for her own children has no business being a mother. Thank the Lord that He cares for us far more. "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee." Isaiah 49:15. I pray that you had your sons checked by a pastor that the dog did not transfer any disease or demons to your precious son? Who knows where that beast came from! "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26.
I pray, Dr. Mansfield, that your current wife does not suffer the same as your previous one and that your sons become wonderful, Godly men of Christ and that they find True Christian ladies to marry. Let me know if I can be of any service to you.
Yours in Christ,
Elizabeth

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised!
I proclaim this statement from the land of Egypt, where I am residing temporarily until my grief passes. Yes, once again I have been visited with the sorrow that comes from losing one's wife. My beloved Angela, with whom I planned to spend the rest of my life serving Christ, was killed in a freak accident just about a month ago. We had gone on vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains and we were on our way for a day trip to Dollywood when she became mysteriously ill after I made her breakfast in our motor home. I put her to bed while I continued to drive. I got lost in the mountains as her condition grew worse. No cell phone service, no sign of any civilization whatsoever. It was obviously God's time to call her home, because when I finally decided to turn around and head back to a main road (I had taken a dirt road that I thought would surely take me to a friendly mountaineer's cottage), she was in the arms of Jesus. I just couldn't bear to put her through an autopsy so I buried her in a remote location and covered the grave in her favorite leaves. I was so angry at the food I prepared her, I buried it, too - in a different location 40 miles away.
I flew to Cairo to try and alleviate my grief, where I met an amazing woman named Amira. Her name means "well populated," which I will take from the Lord as referring to a womb that will spew forth soldiers for Christ. We married yesterday and will notify my sons of their new mother as a Christmas present when we find time. How amazing it was to discover Amira in a land filled with Islamic hate and darkness. Amira loves the Lord so! She has asked me to give you this message:
"Dear Friends of Jesus: Please pray for God to help me! Quickly! Pray for God's help NOW. Call 911!"
Of course, I am sure she means the 911 line of prayer; Amira is so spiritual and filled with passion for Christ. Well, friends, I have rented a car for our honeymoon, after which I hope to return to the USA eventually. For now, I bid you a very Merry Christmas and happy new year. I need to help Amira get all buckled in and be sure she is properly covered as we go through the checkpoint. Christmas Blessings!

Congratulations on your new nuptials, Doctor. Tell your wife I am happy to pray for her. I will pray her womb indeed provides a populous quiver for you (Psalm 127:3-5). I do hope you are right about your late wife, that she is in the loving arms of Jesus. Please forgive me if I don't simply take your word for it that she was Saved, and thus spared eternal torment at the hands of God's former bff, Lucifer (Ezekiel 28:12-18). As you might imagine, we hear so many people assure us they and their loved ones have been Born Again, and yet the fruit betrays the nature of the [unsaved] tree (Matthew 7:16). But perhaps you know best.

What a terrible coincidence that both wives met with unusual ends. I am praying to the LORD that your current wife is delivered from ALL evil lest she meet a similar fate. I also took the liberty of actually calling 911, just in case.
Come, Lord Jesus!

“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen
