Since it is once again deer season, it seems appropriate to review Christian deer huntin rules:

There are only 4 valid reasons to kill a deer:
1. For food
2. For a trophy for your huntin den
3. To stop them from destroyin your crops
4. If a deer attacks your family

Only hunt in legal season and with the appropriate weapon, be it bow, musket or rifle.
Never shoot a deer that is armed.
Always use proper scent removal protocol.
Wear appropriate clothing. Mossy Oak with an embroidered cross and confederate flag always ensures a good kill.
Keep your deer stand stocked with nonalcoholic beer. My cousin, Elmer Lee Birch, was a drinkin man and whilst drunk fell out of his deer stand and broke his neck. I had a good shot lined up on a 12 pointer at the time, so it really messed up my shot.

Christian rules for hunting deer, or any other animal including threatened and endangered species, or your neighbors' pets:

NONE!

You can kill them and even torture them for whatever reason you like, even for fun, at any time of the year.

The Bible sure does ban and strictly regulate alot of things that are part of many peoples' everyday life, but hunting and killing animals is not one of them! After all, God wants us to at least have some fun in our life of worshipping Him, and that's why He made the animals for us to hunt, kill, watch at circus, whatever pleases us. Glory!

My cousin, Daisy Mae Birch, borrowed my Dodge RAM pickup once and hit a deer at about 60 mph. It come up through the windshield and took her head right off. I sure miss that pickup.

If I can bag a buck (or a doe, if I am lucky enough to get a doe tag) with a rifle, I always prefer my .338 Winchester Magnum. The cartridge is exceptional at exploding the chest cavity, and precise aim is not required. Anywhere between the neck and abdomen, it will fall and expire, most of the time.

Of course, I am humane. And if the animal is still alive, bleeding and twitching on the ground when I find it, my .44 magnum revolver ends the game with just one shot to the skull.

It's important to realize our role within God's nature.

Hunting is simply not done as a way of life in Western countries, with few exceptions. Markets are readily available, and civilized cultures have currency. Sport hunting has evolved simply because man has always hunted, and it is in his nature.

In Genesis we read that animals were created for the benefit of man. Adam was given the pleasure of naming them, and they were there for his enjoyment, help, and later as a source of food.

At the beginning of creation, animals mainly served as helpers and enjoyment, and not food because Adam and animals alike were vegetarians [Genesis 1:29-30]. Note also that man was to rule over the earth and subdue it. The earth, and all that it had were meant to serve the needs of man. It wasn't until after the flood in [Genesis 9:3] that meat became a source of food for both animals and man.

Since the animals and the plants of the earth were put under the control of man, God gave the responsibility to man to learn and to use them to his pleasure. That is why using animals in research is absolutely acceptable, because they are meant to be used instead of humans. Animals do not have the same form of eternal soul and likely do not experience an afterlife. This DOES mean that we CAN be cruel toward them. They are not human.

Conservationists would all agree that sport hunting is valuable in keeping the population of some worthless animals in check. There is nothing biblically wrong with it. It is the liberty of Christians to do it.
