Praise Jesus Snot, we agree (you seem to be coming around somewhat) - make them find a job but NEVER feed them!! Also, make sure (as you said) that we put stiff conditions on ANY help we give them, never just help them for the sake of helping, that is a complete waste of time. Praise & Glory....

Rehab? Why should we coddle them? They got themselves addicted, they should get themselves clean. Who's going to pay for their rehab? Me?

I don't think so!

Heh, if you don't feed them they won't live very long. And stiff conditions?? sure, if there is 1 thing you may not do with addicted persons it's being soft, otherwise they fall right back to their addiction.

Oh well, I thought we were getting somewhere - you said send them off to find a job - I just assumed that that would be the extent of the help the pants peeing, stinkey homeless would be receiving. I thought perhaps we may actually agree on something, sorry, carry on Snot.

You are already paying for them, because they have an addiction they turn themselves to a life of crime, so they get arrested and put in jail, that too costs a lot of money. The best thing would be simply to put them in a kind of bootcamp where they get kicked off the drugs and are taught a job so they can re-enter society and start working like normal people. Those camps may cost money but on the other hand, so does their crimes.

Personally I subscribe to the idea of the deserving poor.

Those who fell into impoverishment due to bad luck should get the opportunity to lift themselves up again by going to the poor-house.

The rest, well they simply get what they deserve.

Why on earth the poor-house system was dissolved, I'll never understand. It just made so much common sense.

Exodus 22:18
says, "Suffer not a witch to live." Deuteronomy 18:10 says, "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch."

1. Which is exactly why True Christians never support gun control, we should be allowed to shoot the bums if they get to close to our respective properties (or put the dogs on them).

2. My sentiments exactly - "get a job loser" and go hungry until you do.

I wish I had noticed this thread sooner. Elmer and I just bought the cutest little garden shed for Alberto Gonzales (our gardener) and there's room for an assistant. I was thinking I might like someone to pull dandelions and thistles from our next door neighbor's yard (we seldom have weeds, but worry about the wind blowing weed seeds towards our estate). Anyway, one of these homeless people might be interested. And it would give me that good little tingly feeling to know what a compassionate Christian I am.

Jesus - gentle, dependable overnight relief.

I saw one of those worthless bums when I went to New York City a few years ago. I don't know what smelled worse, the bum or the hot dog I threw away because up north apparently mayonnaise goes on everything. That guy wanted money for food but if he got a job he could buy his own food. What a loser.

God bless America, the Second Amendment and the Constitution. God bless the United States Marine Corps and all who fight for Jesus in third world cess pools. God bless the GOP and all they stand for, Truth, Honesty and the American people. God bless Landover Baptist Church and all True Christians™ the world over. Curses to our Muslim President, his failure is our Salvation.

It is compassion and it is love. If you want to help someone who need to show them what they are doing wrong. What is the point of giving a bum money if he is going to go squander it by donating to the Obama campaign? No, you've to be tough with your love to do good friend.
