I got bit of flack for my Halloween costume. -
11-02-2017, 10:01 AM
First, let me just say I fully understand Halloween can be a deeply Satanic holiday. But my boss threw a Halloween party at the office, and it was clear that not participating would make any employee persona non grata.
So I came up with a great costume, paying tribute to the great minstrels of old, such as the inimitable Al Jolson.
I thought my costume was very thoughtful and well-executed, but some folks apparently had a problem with it, and I've been told to go see HR first thing in the morning.
Do you think I'm going to get written up? Please pray for me!
And please look at this photo of me in costume and tell me if you think there's anything offensive about it.
Thank you.

I think that is a colorful and appropriate way to recognize the satanic day called "Halloween".
I have a Christian friend who noticed that adults now dress in silly costumes on Halloween, even his bank tellers. Like you, he felt he should conform to this new custom.
So, he put on a costume and went to the bank to do some business. Sirens went off and soon he was roughed up by the Police.
The Police said it was OK to dress up and recognize the satanic day, but my friend could not wear a mask of Satan. This is ridiculous.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I am not in the least bit surprised you got flack for that.
I found it offensive that you would have a darkie wearing white gloves. A real darkie has worn and torn cheap split hide ones, stained from the clay soil.
Those gloves look like the ones a nigra would of stolen from a decent, God fearing, chaste White woman that the darkie just raped.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

You're getting flack for your costume because you went in blackface. In today's society, doing so is unacceptable because it's seen as racist.

That seems cruel.
I have tried to help many a nigra by soaking their nappy heads in bleach. They come out wrinkly and black as night still. So the fact that they are as black as spades should not be held against them any more than a hound howls during a hunt or a pig squeals during a slaughter.
So calling the darkie a racist because they are what they are seems to be unjust.

It certainly does! After all this cry about embracing diversity, the poor fellow who sincerely does so is then attacked! You'd never see a Liberal attacked for their aggressive hostility against Christ, but God Forbid a Christian tries to welcome the lesser races into Christ's Fold. The problem is Liberals think everything is aggression, as they are naturally aggressive sinners themselves. To a hammer, everything is a nail.

Thank you for your input, Esther, but I'm a mite confused. How is this racist?

Many people consider it racist because they believe that it's used to make fun of African Americans by emphasising the stereotypes of their race.
I'm in no way suggesting that you're a racist, so I apologize if you were under the impression that I was.

No offense taken, Esther. Esther is a good, Biblical name, by the way.
Say, if you don't mind my asking, how old are you?

Brother FM,
I fail to see why anyone at your workplace would have objections to your celebration of diversity. Companies have been extolling the virtues of inclusion for years, claiming that this brings strength to workplace teams. Your choice to remind others of this is nothing but commendable.
Might I recommend a Joo lawyer to help see you through this difficult time? Surely there are many in godless California. I only suggest this because it will be important to say the right things during your inquisition. I will be thinking of you and praying for you; please keep us updated.
Your loving brother in Jesus,
BrotherLarry

You might not be in trouble with HR.
Perhaps they merely want to find out if you are available to tap dance at the office Christmas party.

Wearing that costume was a real learning experience for me. It really helped me to place myself in a black person's shoes and imagine what it must be like to go through life being black.
For example, on my way home, I happened to strike up a conversation with a white woman in the elevator, and she seemed really nervous.

They didn't write me up, but I am now enrolled in some cultural sensitivity training at an off-site location.
Twenty five, you say?
My, my, my, what a wonderful age to be.

It would be racist to not use that costume.
