  • Matthew 5:28

Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Dearest friends; This is one of my favorite Bible (KJV1611) verses. It's one that is often pushed by Pastor Ray Comfort, on his Way of the Master tv shows. You'll see him out on the roads, acting like a common street preacher, talking to people on the street, asking them if they follow the 10 commandments.

    (With that crappy Australian accent)

Pastor Ray: If you killed someone, what would that make you?

    Unsuspecting street person: A killer.

Pastor Ray: That's right, but you've never killed anyone. If you lied, what would that make you?

    Street person: A liar.

    Ray: Have you lied?

    Person: yes.

Ray: Have you ever committed adultery?

    Person: No.

Ray: Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that whoever looks upon a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart, so have you ever committed adultery?

    Person: I guess so then...

At some point in the interview, Pastor Ray will bust out this verse: James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

All of this is correct; and Pastor Ray is also correct in saying that the person needs salvation.

I'm here to help you NOT commit that adultery.

Remember, Adultery is the taking of another man's property, that property being either his daughter, or wife (Technically, a daughter only if she is betrothed/promised to another man).

To prevent committing adultery in your heart, and possibly damning your soul to Hell for all eternity, I recommend this simple fix.

If you think you might like to have sex with a woman, and you don't think you can ever not think about her naked and having sex with you; FIRST, visualize yourself marrying her. That simple step can prevent you from the fires of hell.

Remember, there is no verse in the Bible (KJV1611) that expressly forbids polygamy. A man can have as many wives (real or just in his heart) as he can afford. Now, I'm not exactly sure if this makes the woman your actual wife, but since the sin is just as real, I'd imagine the marriage would have to be just as real. If that girl that you have married in your heart, gets engaged and married to another man, she has become an adulteress, and you do have grounds for divorce (and you could probably have her stoned in your heart as well).

Also, since the sin is just as real to the LORD as if you'd have actually done it, then the marriage is just as real as well, so from that point on, if my reading of the scripture is correct, you could have actual sex with IN REAL LIFE, as well.

So, to sum up, Do not look upon a woman with lust, until after you have looked upon her as though she's wearing a wedding ring that matches yours.

That's he sin that President Jimmy Carter turned himself in for when he was talking to Playboy magazine.

I've always suspected that he didn't really commit adultery in his heart. I think he was just trying to sound "cool" for the pornographers that run that filthy magazine, and the immoral Democrats who read it.
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

I love James chapter 2...doesn't he say later in that chapter something along the lines of "For we are justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ALONE"?
      ACTS 5:29

But Peter and the apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men."
There you have it-so WHAT'S STOPPING YOU COWARDS?

Works follow faith. If you have true faith, then you will naturally do works. But you can't have works without faith to be accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven either.
