Rape charge for Israeli president

While scandal and corruption aren't new to politics, the current president of Isreal is just following a long line of leaders of Isreal who have done some "questionable" things.

Thinking back to the first King of Isreal, Saul, he (on several occasions) tried to kill David, one of the most beloved people in the Old Testament.

According to a statement from the ministry, Katsav is charged with raping a woman who worked for him in the tourism ministry in 1998 and 1999, as well as indecent acts with use of force.

He is also charged with unlawful intercourse and indecent acts against another woman who worked with him while he was president in 2003-04. Katsav also faces charges of indecent acts with abuse of power against two women who worked for him as president.

Why am I reminded of David?

2 Samuel 11:15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

So who was Uriah? He was a leader in David's army? So why did David want to have him killed? Well, Uriah was also the husband of Bathsheba.

4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

So, in the long tradition of leaders of Isreal, the current president is just trying to be like David.

I say, bully for him!

Who was the wisest ruler of all time? Solomon (the son of Bathsheba and David).

Solomon had many many women.

1 Kings 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart

I'm only seeing charges brought by 2 women against the new president. Surely he could live up to the example set by Solomon and get 998 more?

Why do those libruls continually try to thwart God's will?

But remember, that because of what David did to Uriah, the Lord wanted to punish David by raping all of his wives (2nd Samuel 12:9-15)

9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

God berates David for what he did to Uriah and his wife.

11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

In return, all of David's wives shall be raped. Naturally God will not perform the rape Himself; He'll raise up evil against David and give David's wives away to a neighbor, who'll carry out the actual rape process.

12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

The rape shall take place in broad daylight. I suppose God wants to personally follow the act and make sure that His command will be obeyed to the letter.

Well, as we all know God repented (after all, David was a man after His heart), so instead of raping David's wives, God contended Himself with killing David's son:

13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

So in conclusion, even thought the Lord doesn't put a limit on the number of wives and mistresses you're allowed to have, it's best to keep the number low, unless you want to see them raped in broad daylight.
