Reasons to Keep Your Kids OUT of Secular College! -
07-18-2007, 10:56 PM
I offer as the first exhibit in what will undoubtedly become an enormously long list, THIS secular news story, proving once and for all that WITCH CRAFT IS OPENLY TAUGHT in secular so-called "universities" all across America.
Quote:
U.S. college students seek the magic of Quidditch
PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Stephen Dewey knows he lacks the magic to play Quidditch quite like they do in the Harry Potter novels but he does all he can to create an authentic experience for fans of the teenage wizard.
Dewey, a student at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, organizes the campus Quidditch club of about 40 Potter devotees imitating the aerial game of the book series.
Although Bucknell has not played its first official game -- that is expected in September -- Dewey's club has received $150 from the college to buy supplies, including hula hoops and a volleyball that stands in for the real "quaffle."
Also on the equipment list are the brooms on which J.K. Rowling's Quidditch players fly around during games and which Bucknell players are required to hold between their legs.
Bucknell's Quidditch players follow the rules, adopted by some 10 other U.S. Quidditch-playing colleges, which come from the Potter books.
There is also a "seeker" who chases the elusive "golden "snitch" around campus during the game. The capture of the snitch, usually after about 15 minutes, signals the end of the game.
Dewey described the sport as "mildly full-contact" and said it requires some athletic ability, particularly for seekers, who are typically cross-country runners. It appeals equally to men and women, he said.
Players have worn outlandish garb including swimming goggles and capes made out of shower curtains and bed sheets.
Dewey said he's received "some puzzled looks" when recruiting but that even the skeptics want to know more. He suspects they are secretly Harry Potter fans.
"They are usually curious to know how I could make this into a playing game," he said. "Running around on brooms does appeal to a surprising number of college students."
|
Now I know that the idea of a group of young adults running around a campus green with brooms between their legs and shower curtains flapping in the wind behind them might seem hilariously funny, but I assure you that the practice of magic is no laughing matter. God condemns it outright, and if we lived in a land guided exclusively by the laws of God, you and I would be picking these kids off with a rifle and scope for sport. Praise Jesus I live for that day!
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Well, they're apparently hellbound sinners anyways. Why not at least poke some fun at them before they're sent to the fires of Hell? Sniping them just seems so... unsportsmanlike and impersonal.

Which part of the Bible says, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live, unless giving the witches their just desserts would be unsportsmanlike and impersonal, in which case thou shoudst just poke some fun at them"? Witches have chosen eternal damnation, so if our legal system followed Scripture instead of the whims of the dzhoos on K Street, we could give them what they want right away.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

You know, for an America-worshipper like you, I'd think you would know our law keeps the Fifth Commandment, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" in mind.
And BTW, I'd recommend sending your students to Holy Cross, Sacred Heart, Fordham, Georgetown, or Villanova before sending them to Bucknell!

I keep telling you - "thou shalt not kill" is the 6th commandment.
You call yourself "Father" and you don't even know the Ten Commandments.
1st Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1st Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1st Corinthians 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

One of the first things I learned when I left the papist cult was the true Ten Commandments where graven images are forbidden. When I thought of how many years I spent angering God by praying to statues of Mary and various saints, I collapsed in a horrified faint.
Fortunately, I managed to get saved and find Jesus for real. I pray the same happens to you before it's too late, idolator.

Do you want to remind yourself what Revelations 22:19 says?

No.
We use the Deuteronomy 5:6-21 account as our Ten Commandments, while you use the traditional Exodus version (And we consider your Second Commandment to be part of the First).
We don't worship statues. Check out what the Council of Trent had to say:
Quote:
The images of Christ and of the Virgin Mother of God, and of the saints are to be had and retained particularly in churches, and due honor and veneration are to be given them; not that any divinity or virtue is believed to be in them on account of which they are to be worshipped, or that anything is to be asked of them, or that trust is to be reposed in images, as was of old by the Gentiles, who placed their hopes in idols; but because the honor which is shown them is referred to the prototypes which these images represent; so that we through the images which we kiss...or bend the knee, adore Christ and venerate the saints, whom they represent. [The Canons & Decrees of the Council of Trent (TAN Books, 1978) p. 215-6]
|
The Catholic Church has not altered the Ten Commandments of God. The Church has not dropped the "Second Commandment" as the booklet alleges. The Catholic numbering scheme may differ with the Protestant numbering scheme, but this is due to a difference in tradition and not an alteration of God's Commandments. Unfortunately the Bible is not clear on how to divide or number the Ten Commandments. If this difference is scandalous, it would be interesting to know what the author of the booklet thought of Jesus Christ when He reduced God's Commandments to the Two Great Commandments in Matt. 22:36-40. Finally the Church strictly condemns the adoration (divine worship) of statues, images or even the saints, since this is idolatry and in direct violation of the First Commandment. For Christians a crucifix should not be considered merely as a statue of Jesus hanging on a cross, but as a reminder of the high cost of our salvation as well as His words to us:
"If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." [Mark 8:34]
Check out God commanding Moses to make a "graven image"
Quote:
And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and every one who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live." So Moses made a bronze serpent...

III. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day, the Lord doesn't like it when the Sunday afternoon Bingo games start late.
IV. Honor a guy you call Father and Jesus's mother instead of Jesus.
V. Thou shalt not kill without buying an indulgence from the Pope first.
VI. Thou shalt not commit adultery, unless you are an altarboy and the Priest calls you to "serve him."
VII. Thou shalt not steal, but it's OK to extort money from the poor by denying them Communion if they don't pay up.
VIII. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, except as necessary to prevent lawsuits by boys who were raped by priests.
IX. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, because the one straight Priest in the Diocese has dibs.
X. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods, except when the time comes to pass the collection plate, then it's open season--and be sure they write their names on the envelopes.

Yes. We come from a Christian tradition, you come from a pagan one. That's a pretty big difference alright.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Where could I have gotten an education like this? The only non-secular institution offering a similar program is BYU.

So much for your Biblical knowledge heathen boy: God's law does not "allow" the killing of witches - it INSTRUCTS the killing of witches.
Ex:22:18: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
De:18:10: There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
1Sa:15:23: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
2Ki:9:22: And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
2Ch:33:6: And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Mic:5:12: And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
Na:3:4: Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
You see, God states quite clearly that witches are not the sort of creature you want around the place. You won't find any here that deny that Matthew Hopkins was not a Godly man.

God commands us to kill witches, not tolerate them. If you bothered to read the Bible, you'd know that.

In addition to Middlebury and Vassar, Quidditch is played at Bucknell University, Tulane, Oberlin, Washington state's Whitman College and Vermont's Marlboro College, where the Golden Snitch is not a human but a toy helicopter. (It has to be caught before it hits the ground.)
|
Here's how they play it:
Quote:
HOW TO KEEP QUIDDITCH GROUNDED
So, here's how Quidditch is played according to earthbound rules:
Brooms are required, leaving only one hand available, making the game harder as you chase the game ball, a slightly deflated volleyball.
Each team has seven players.
Three chasers throw the ball among them as they work down the field. If they get it through one of three circular goals (think hula hoops on poles), the team scores 10 points.
At the same time, two other team members fling around dark balls called bludgers in an attempt to distract and knock over opposing players. When a player is hit with a bludger, he must drop any ball he is holding and run back to his goal zone before he can make any more plays.
Seekers try to catch the most elusive ball, the Golden Snitch. In the Rowling books, the Snitch flies about independently. In real life, it hangs in a sock in the shorts of a player selected for lightness of loafer. The Snitch disappears for periods of time, reappearing on the field to shrieks of the crowd. The Snitch player has a much larger boundary than the others, often covering a large part of campus. Seekers can follow him.
Catching the Snitch is worth 50 points, and once the Snitch is caught, the game ends.
