A little about me: I teach cultural studies at a liberal-arts college. I figure that it's a good way to subvert the dominant paradigm of corporate conservative consumerist capitalism in the minds of today's youths. Since my students come almost exclusively from middle- to upper-income backgrounds, they have a dismayingly high rate of false consciousness, but then, it's in my job description to show them how to have right minds.
When I'm not teaching or writing articles for publication, I like to work for social justice, volunteer at the organic co-op (just a short ride on the No. 8 bus from the student ghetto, in case you'd like to stop by), and go mountain biking.
About the monicker: I used to be just plain old Darren Myers, but I decided to hyphenate the last name I got from my father with my wife's mother's maiden name to do my part against the patriarchy. I guess that makes Myers my maiden name, doesn't it?
Anyway, I look forward to dialoguing with all of you. Peace out!

I can't understand a word this young man is saying. Perhaps one of our True Christians might translate his message for us?

Well, excuse me for not following your chest-thumping, testosterone-fueled vision of what a "real man" should be. Maybe you should check out organizations like the National Organization for Men Against Sexism.

We are not sexist, we just know the place of men and women according to the bible.

We had only one child, since we both believe in limiting population growth, and yes, my wife did breast-feed Kayla. You didn't expect us to buy baby formula from some Third-World-pillaging corporation, did you?

Regarding Mother/Father God: I know that the phallocracy has indoctrinated us into seeing the Deity in exclusively male terms in order to perpetuate the subjugation of women, but if God has created all of us in God's image, how can God be only a Father instead of a Mother/Father? I used to pray to "Our Father, who art in heaven," too, but through a process of spiritual enlightenment I realized that I was putting human, earthly limits on who God is.
Anyway, I must go soon. I have to prepare my lecture notes for a seminar on Derrida. Be well.

Now Pastor, be fair. She may be able to get a job at one cleaning toilets or something. Some of the medical colleges use mental midgets like ms.hellhole for medical experiments. Those are the only two ways I can imagine her getting into one.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

The implication being that the rest of us do not represent a voice of sanity. A fine way to behave on the boards where you are a guest, Mr Ingram-Myers. Once again a liebral leopard has shown its true spots with in a very short time of arriving.
I suspect that you are just another foul minion of Satan here in an attempt to undermine the work of the Lord and throw our Holy boards into disarray. Your attempted aliance with the Godless Hippie-Wiccan Moonflower gives weight to this suspicion. It would not surprise me if you are not one of her companions from under the bridge in the forest come here to help her seduce our young away from Jesus.
Your talk of young people being able to explore their sexuality means simply that you encourage them to abandon themselves to their baser carnal lusts and indulge in fornication and even the abomination of unnatural affections -- Yes even Homerism itself. You are setting them on a path that will lead inevitably to destruction and the fires of damnation. Shame on you.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

No offense taken, and thank you for your interest. We looked into a hippie community, but sadly, the entire hippie movement has been so co-opted and commodified that there isn't much point anymore. Also, the one that we looked at was a bit far from the Montessori school where we plan to enroll Kayla, and the closest "organic" food store was part of a huge conglomerate.

I pity this Kayla.. From the bottom of my heart.
Poor child, being born to such parents.
Never will she learn her place of submission in the world.
Never will she know the pleasures of eating meat.
She will probably grow up to be a carpet munching junkie turning tricks on the corner.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.

I got to admit Darren, meat isn't that bad. But, if that's what you're into, whatever. And Salvo Seeker: whether you're homo or heterosexual depends on your genetics, not where you grew up or who raised you.
