P.S. I think they have us confused with Italians, at least judging by the youtube videos that they've posted here and that are in Italian.

I admit it and am extremly proud to be Portuguese, not only for the richness of our history, our great weather my football club Sport Lisboa Benfica. Keep in mind that if it weren't for portuguese sailors your country, which i visit often and love, would probably never be found. peace out...and try to be more tolerante and respectfull towards other cultures.

well Portuguese did find Brazil and had the nautical charts that allowed Columbus to find America. But vikings did find it first, and of course it was bound to be found sometime. But this was just to show you that Portuguese are not a bad people and made huge contributions to the world. And you talk about imigrants, but you are all imigrants in that country. Your people were british settlers.

I don't know, i've seen a tremendous lack of knowledge in some people in this forum.

Can you point Portugal in a map? It seems some people can't, hence the videos in italian being misjudged as portuguese.

You called portuguese people drug addicts, thieves, stupid, lazy, rude. I say and know for a fact that in the US there are these kind o people,as well but I don't judge an entire people based on a few bad experiences. I tend to respect everyone, but those people should respect me and my country. And yes, you show a tremendous lack of knowledge. You know nothing about my country

Anyone who abuses drugs, steals from the rich, is lazy enough to be on welfare and rude enough to be a public Atheist isn't a REAL American (as in white, Republican Baptist) That is a FACT friend and that is a difference between Portugal and America.

Sorry, but aren’t you the one causing the confusion?

First you imply that Portuguese found America, while actually Italian captains (sailing under the Spanish flag) found the continent and realized it is a new one.

Then you imply that Portuguese had maps enabling others to find America; why didn’t they rather find it on their own?

Then you mock Americans for not being able to find Portugal on maps - even if it’s a way, way smaller spot on the map than the whole American continent.

You don't make any point whatsoever.

As I said you all should probably read more. There are more drug addicts in the US then in Portugal, there are more people living on welfare in the US then in Portugal. I also must add that I get up at 7 am every day to go to work and get home at around 6 pm, I've never used drugs, nor lived on welfare. Also I've always paid my taxes and never stole nothing from no one. Like me there are thousands of portuguese all over the world. Of course there are a few that steal, live on welfare and don't work. But an entire people shouldn't be judged by the misdoings of a few.
