A U.S. soldier shot by a sniper in Iraq said his pocket-sized Bible tucked in his shirt saved his life by stopping a bullet near his heart.
Pfc. Brendon Schweigart, 22, who is from Andover, was helping retrieve a tank in Iraq when he was hit by a sniper's bullet earlier this month.
Schweigart said the bullet stopped right where the Bible was in his shirt pocket.
"(The Bible) definitely prevented more serious injury, because if it wouldn't have been there, it would have ricocheted off my bullet-proof plate and more than likely would have gone back into my chest, causing more damage," Schweigart said.
Schweigart said he also thinks prayers from those in the United States helped him recover.
The 22-year-old said he will stay in Iraq until his tour of duty is finished in winter.
"Thanks for the prayers and the letters," Schweigart said. "Everybody wishing me to be well and thanks everybody for the support."
When was the last time you heard of a vial of catlickers Holy water or a heathens 4 leaf clover, or a lucky rabbits foot stopping a bullet? Never, thats when! How much more proof do the ungodly need that the Bible saves lives. If my Uncle didnt have the contract making and supplying body armour to the military, I would recommend doing away with it altogether, and just have a Pastor bless the troops before battle, promising them that the enemys' bullets can't hurt them - as long as they have one of my miniature KJV Bibles in their breast pocket. (which can be ordered from me at a very reasonable price. Available in faux-leather, olive-drab, desert camo and pigskin)

Looks like the liberal media made another typo.

This is yet more proof that all this body-armor nonsense the democrats are stirring up is just partisan politics. Soldiers don't need armor! A bible in the pocket is more effective than any "Dragonskin" (now there's a satanic brand name if I've ever heard one!).

I know it works because there is SCIENTIFIC PROOF that it works, plus videos demonstrating it's strength.
Don't worry about me enlisting, I would never go get myself killed for oil.

I've watched a minute of the video so far and let me say, if Dragonskin is so effective, why does that guy's face look like he tried to tounge-kiss a flamethrower? Hasn't protected him very well!

Firstoff, the guy is simply old. Second, our dumbass GWB is merely a puppet for the politicians behind the scenes, not for jesus. And so far, GWB hasn't been told by anyone to spend billions on Dragonskin, although it could save hundreds of lives.

You must believe every commercial you see on TV. Dragonskin is exactly as effective as a spell from Hogwarts. You have probable never seen a real firearm and you surely are not qualified as an expert in matters like this. Shut up about it. Go get your light saber and chase yourself.

I am scared spitless of guns. However, I have fired many of them, and I have seen what they can do, but at the same time I've seen side-by-side tests of Dragonskin VS Interceptor and Dragonskin always wins.
