Dear Friend,
The worst sins are those which trick the sinner into thinking he is really exercising a virtue. Consider the sin of sexual deviance. Our society has gotten so off-track that instead of a man hiding his homosexuality, he will identify with it. He will say, not, "I am a man engaged in a homosexual lifestyle," but "I am a homosexual." For such persons, so deep in moral error, there is no way for us to attack the sin without the sinner feeling personally attacked. But if we
don't attack the sin, if we stay in polite silence, the man will stay in its thrall to his eternal detriment. For his soul, this is a matter of life and death. For love of the man, we must be brave enough to liberate him from his bondage, even if so doing will initially draw his ire.
Yours in Him,
