But assuming that Zeke's, BT's, and others avatars are whom they are, why don't they as Godly men have beards and sideburns?

Quote:
Leviticus 19:27
Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

Leviticus 19:37.
Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.
So according to 19:27 men are supposed to have beards and sideburns, if not giant long beards, and least some, since you aren't supposed to clip off the edges. Then 19:37 only enforces it generally by saying to obey all his decrees, 27 being one of them.

They don't cut it--they shave it.

Well, it really isn't cutting the edges of your beard if you shave it off. As the beard grows from the chin, it only has three edges, with a fourth side playing host to its roots.

Yay for creative interpretation! ^.^

Shaving involves the act of cutting.

Depends on where you get the definition from.

Oxford English Dictionary defines it not only as:

but also:

So, depending on how you look at it, the act of shaving could entail cutting, or it could very well not.

Well yes, when you shave something off of something else its removing a thin strip yeah, which could involve cutting. But its obvious we're talking about the hair shaving type int his thread.

Do you do that with fire? Do you do it with acid? Or do you use a blade and cut the hair off?

However, as an alternative to cutting, as such aforementioned, shaving with a blade could be described as using a scraping motion to sever elongated strands of hair from one's face. Unless of course it's an electric shaver... then it's just cutting due to the inherent motion of the blades...

But let me ask you this. When you scrape that blade over the hair, how does the blade remove it? You're doing a scraping motion, but the blade is cutting. It doesn't pull the hair out, it doesn't dissolve it, it cuts it short.

Same as with scissors, when you use them on paper, you yourself are only squeezing the handles, so you could say that you're just closing and opening your fingers, but that doesn't stop the paper from being cut by the scissors blades does it? Scissor blades, razor blades, swords, etc. Blades are meant for one purpose: cutting.

What are you talking about? We haven't mentioned eyebrow waxing at all. In fact its gotten quite off topic since apparently its become a debate about what is and isn't cutting.

Is it that hard to understand?

A blade is sharp. It's designed to cut. Shaving involves using a razor, which utilizes a blade. Hence, when shaving, we utilize a blade.

Hai guiz wuts goin on in dis internet?
