Well if you practice birthdays because you are unaware that it's witchcraft and astrology, it's kind of an excuse. Ignorance is sort of half and excuse in the Bible, you are not punished as much as someone who sins knowingly. Praise God for the abundance of his mercifulness. Now if you know what birthdays are all about but practice them nevertheless, you can probably say your butt goodbye on the judgement day

Did you not read what I said? Birthdays have nothing whatsoever to do with astrology!

Indeed, Brother Jim, this is simply JW nonsense. But how typical of the JWs to intrude on a thread of fellowship, on a True Christian™ forum, and try to de-rail our Godly good wishes to our beloved Sister Handmaiden for their own evil purposes.
Small wonder that all right-thinking people slam the door in their faces.

if you are sincerely unaware of the link between birthdays and astrology, I imagine God might overlook it on the judgement day. I hope you stay away of anything that you know is sinful. Nevertheless, if it was me I'd research anything that I am doing that the Bible doesn't command, so that I don't have to take much chances by relying on God's mercy. If you keep all the holy days of the Catholic church and none that Jesus kept in the Bible, you may be on the wrong side of Christianity. God bless

Where does Jesus say to ignore birthdays?
Chapter and verse, please.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

oh boy where do I start? How about this one
Malachi
3:5 “I will come to you in judgment. I will be quick to testify against those who practice divination, those who commit adultery, those who break promises, and those who exploit workers, widows, and orphans, who refuse to help the immigrant and in this way show they do not fear me,” says the Lord who rules over all.
"Those who practice divination", that would be someone who makes a birthday wish (to no one else but the Satan of course)

I didn't see the word "birthday" in there anywhere.

We don't practice divination. We pray, and God provides (Matthew 6:26, 7:7-8).

Nobody here has made any mention of astrology, divination, or wishing. Except you.
Anyway, why would a wish be to Satan?
3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Was John talking to Satan? In a word, 'No'.
A wish is nothing more, nothing less, than a prayer.

That's unusual, when I was a secular humanist I practiced divination by making a birthday wish every year (Not to the Lord of course, that was before I read the Bible)

I don't think you actually know what "divination" means.
Serious question: are you retarded?

Divination is the practice of making decisions or foretelling the future by means of reading signs and omens.
How does making a wish fit that definition?

Agreed. Maybe he's a foreigner or something.
"Divination: the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers" ( source).
Is this what you were doing on your birthday, dear? Because that's something we do not do, sweetie!

Birthday wish would surely fall under the definition of sorcery, what do you think. Magic, sorcery, you know

Or maybe it would just fall under the definition of saying to someone "Enjoy today"?

So you're saying John the Apostle was a sorcerer?
(3 John 1:2) "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

The dictionary should be your friend, dear.
"Sorcery: the use of power gained from the assistance or control of evil spirits especially for divining" ( source).
"Magic: a power that allows people (such as witches and wizards) to do impossible things by saying special words or performing special actions" ( source).
Do you often evoke evil spirits via some obscure incantations when you wish somebody a "happy birthday?"
I'm sorry, but that just sounds weird!

Friend, you can wish all you want. We pray!
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
