Not so. Again, I NEVER said Jesus ONLY spoke as a cheery fellow, but I said he did. I have read the Bible, I've gone to Church all my life. I don't know if your view of him is as a jerk who only yelled at and insulted people, and if it is, I sure feel sorry for you (though I assume that it is not.) I just said that when people asked him questions, nice innocent questions when they were trying to learn more, they were not bombarded with "OMG! GO READ THE SCRIPTURES!" (Yes, I know, a bit of hyperbole there.) Instead, he told them what they needed to know. And I don't recall him ever calling people 'tards or fags. Because that would deter people from following him, and that's not what we're supposed to do.

Rev. Osborne, there's a specific point I am trying to make. It is our goal on Earth to witness to and guide the unsaved to the love of Jesus Christ. The best way to do that is NOT by forsaking them, calling them names (such as "trash"), and showing them a general lack of respect. To be a Christian does not mean to be able to cite scripture, while that is nice, but to be a Christian in all that you do. Including how you represent yourself and the Lord at all times. This not only includes church, but also on your "private" forums, and other "private" settings. For being a witness to His word is not a part-time job but a life-time commitment. Therefore, the best way to witness is by setting an example through action. My general method is to NOT judge a person, but to come to understand where they are coming from, the hard (or not so hard) circumstances that brought them to that point, and various other circumstances that have led them away from Christ, and in some cases prevented them from knowing Christ at all. While it is ultimately their fault alone that they do not know Christ, it is also our fault if we have a chance to be a good witness and instead we scare them away with hateful words, and evil wishes. Compassion, empathy, and respect toward a non-believer will carry a lot more weight and speak volumes more than the non-stop repetition of scripture.

As True Christians™ we must reprove and rebuke people. Nowhere in the Bible does it say "be understanding and tolerant of others...be nice to them.." when it comes to preaching. So if you do think we are wrong in our methods, can you show my examples in Scripture that says we are going the wrong way?
Does not Paul say this?
Quote:
2nd Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2nd Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

You know, the Bible doesn't say to be a jerk either (as that seems to be the approach that many people on this forum are taking.) Also, the Bible does tell us that we should be loving. It also explains what love is. Understanding, compassionate, and all that. Seems like some of you aren't being very loving.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division.
Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

I don't think any of us are jerks. We simply tell the Bible how it is without trying to sugar-coat it so that the unsaved will know what God really commands. We also do love others: If I didn't love the unsaved, I would not preach to them so that they can have eternal life. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that only those that accept Jesus Christ will go to heaven while everyone else suffers eternal damnation in Hell.
If I was a jerk, I wouldn't be witnessing to you right now. I would rather have you keep on your course to hell without caring the slightest of the welfare of your soul.

In my defense, I have been spreading the Word of God© for over 45 years. On my televangelist show which was broadcast to over 90 countries at its peak, I helped bring literally millions of people to accept Jesus as their savior. The reason why I've been so successful is because I believe in the Bible literally and do not twist Scripture.
Where in Scripture does it tell us to "understand others"? Where does it tell us NOT to judge? Indeed we are told several times in the Bible that we can judge others.

But if you are not Saved© by the blood of Christ, you will not be going to Heaven. You need to follow the entire bible (Deut. 4:2) and not pick and choose which ones you care to follow.

I am glad that you brought millions of people to accept Jesus as their savior. That is something to be very happy about. However, you are twisting what I said. I am saying understand their circumstances and make a connection with them. In what way are we allowed to judge others? I am not disputing this, but merely wondering when circumstances allow us to judge others. And thank you for having an intelligent discussion on this matter instead of taking this as a personal attack as some others have.

Yea, so I should be fine. I follow the entire Bible. I don't just pick and choose things. If I did, I wouldn't be 100% convinced of my salvation. I am saved by the blood of Christ. (Oh, by the way, you can't copyright your personal church as the only way to salvation. I'm not saying other religions are right. Not saying that at all, but this is not the ONE correct denomination [I'm not even sure it IS a correct denomination]).
But rest assured, I do not omit ANYTHING out of the Bible. It's all there for a reason, right? And I take all of it literally (other than the parables that Jesus told, and said were parables. Then I interpret those as He told us to). So yea. No worries, I'll see you in Heaven. (I know I'll be there, at least).

Mohler, no True Christians™ here attack or provoke others. If you've seen many of the posts on this site, all too often we have trolls come here just to make trouble and attack us for our beliefs. To answer your question, here are several verses which command us to judge others:
Quote:
Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
1st Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1st Corinthians 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Now, I am no high and mighty Pastor or Reverend but I do know that going against God is not a wise thing to do if you want to Go to Heaven. How do you think Pastor Zeke or Rev. Jim achieved their lofty status? Was it by a plastic doohickey from the dispenser at Wal*Mart or from years of study and following the Lord. I think what they have to say carries tremendous weight and value and should be considered as much.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Buckley, indeed Landover Baptist Church has copyrighted these terms. Our Church is the only one who follows the Bible 100% and are going to Heaven. This is not to be arrogant, but simply stating the facts laid out in the Bible.
Let me ask you some questions if you don't mind. - Do you believe homosexuals should be put to death?
- Do you believe that men are superior to women?
- Do you believe the vast majority of people are going to Hell?
- Do you believe Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Presybterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Quakers, and other heretical sects are going to Hell?
- Do you believe that everything in the Old Testament is still in force?
- Do you believe that God created evil?

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) No (As I am Luteran [CLC. We follow that book to the dot.]), but otherwise yes.
5) Yes, wait...I think my church says something about when Jesus died on the cross, it wiped away some of the things put in place by the jewish church. For your sake, I'll say yes.
6) No.

Buckley, I am glad for you in that you do accept most of the Bible and are closer towards Salvation© than many of these Godless trolls that come in here. However, on number Six I asked if you believed that God created evil. You said no. However, the Bible tells us this is so...

Don't try to weasel out of this. You don't need to have the Bible memorized word-for-word thought, but by you not understanding this it shows you do not have the proper understanding of the Bible. This is why it is imperative for you to study the Bible everyday. It is God's Word, is it not? Through further Bible study I know you can be Saved©. You strike me as an earnest seeker of the truth and I believe that with a little guidance you may someday become a member of our church and go to Heaven.

What she said was "Liberal Christians like you make me sick." That is not a personal attack, but an observation on reality. Liberal Christians feel they can use false versions of the Bible, then not only that, feel they have a right to pick and choose which of God's commandments to follow. "Ooh I like this one about forgiveness....but let's throw out these ones that condemn homosexuals!". It is truly arrogant for them to dictate which of God's laws are applicable.
People like that make me sick, too. Don't you agree?

Video games are a fantasy and playing them is a waste of time. These nerds need to get their heads out of the clouds and wake up to the realities described in the Bible.
