New here -
02-28-2009, 02:47 AM
I am a saved woman in Christ. I love the lord and he has provided much for my family during these hard economic times.
I am a widow with 2 children age 13 and 10.
It's been many years now and I thought the best way to meet like minded people would be on a Godly website.
I hope to find new friends to share in Christs word.
Bless everyone

To answer your question's.
1. First Baptist Church of Ocoee
2. Jesus did not "Kill" him, he passed when a drunk driver hit him on his way home from work. He was a Sheriffs Deputy.

Lady, Jesus kills everybody. He is "large and in charge" as the kids say these days. Have you ever read the Holy Bible?
What kind of false Christian church do you attend?

Whoa, now, you're a bit too new to be making accusations, Missy. I'm willing to be nice, 'cause I'm just a nice person, but it's not your place to be questioning the Pastors here (or the varacity of Landover Baptist Church).

If Jesus isn't in charge, then who is?
I can see why Jesus killed your husband. He punished you for being disrespectful and uppity.
I don't trust young widows. Neither did Jesus.

I will agree to disagree. I am far from uppity. Just by the way you have spoken to me, you have broken some of the commandments.
"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…
ONE: ' You shall have no other gods before Me.'
TWO: ' You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
THREE: ' You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
FOUR: ' Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
FIVE: ' Honor your father and your mother.'
SIX: ' You shall not murder.'
SEVEN: ' You shall not commit adultery.'
EIGHT: ' You shall not steal.'
NINE: ' You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: ' You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'
The 10 Commandments - Christ's Summation in the New Testament
About 1,400 years later, the 10 Commandments were summed up in the New Testament at Matthew 22, when Jesus was confronted by the religious "experts" of the day:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).
A reflective reading of Christ's teaching reveals that the first four commandments given to the children of Israel are contained in the statement: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." It continues that the last six commandments are enclosed in the statement: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
God Bless Pastor

Have you read the first epistle of Paul to Timothy, chapter the fifth? I think it applies perfectly to you!
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...%20Timothy%205
1Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
3Honour widows that are widows indeed.
4But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
5Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
6But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
7And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
8But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
9Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.
10Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
11But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
14I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15For some are already turned aside after Satan.
16If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
17Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
19Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
20Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
22Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
23Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
24Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
25Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

Welcome, CoG!
I'm also a widow, though I don't much like to talk about the reasons God killed my husband. Suffice it to say, it was before I was Saved©.
I'm sorry that Pastor Ezekiel has offended you with his way. He's a bit gruff at times, and we've been recently virtually accosted by a series of drug-addled stoners who can't even string coherent sentences together.
Naturally, your arrival at the same time led him to believe you might be one of them.
Since we follow the whole Bible, instead of just the bits that give us a warm fuzzy, people join our church forum all the time to persecute us for not fitting in with their stereotypical beliefs about what Christians would be, if only Christians would ignore the Bible and instead follow their own flawed human "conscience".

I may not like everything GOD says in his word, but I obey his word because he is my heavenly father and knows what is in my best intrest.
I was born in to sin and Jesus paid my fine on the cross the day I accepted him into my heart.
I am in no way uppity, nor did I come on here to fight. I can get that kind of stuff from worldly people.
Are Christians persicuted..yes, but the kingdom of Heaven is ours to inherit as long as we never deny Christ.
Have a great night Jenny and thank you for clearing somethings up...I did feel attacked, and could not understand why.

As our Sister said the pastor was bit distracted. The socialist attack on America by the Obama administration has all of us Christians on edge. Please do come back and talk to us again.
Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Ok, I apologize if I was too harsh with you, I like to test new members, to see if they are worthy. You seem like a good person. I offer my sincerest apologies for having offended you, and understand completely if you choose not to forgive my rude behavior.
