  • Renaming Squaw Creek Is an Affront to the White Man

    A county just north of Freehold is discussing a new name for Squaw Creek. The elected people in that county are buckling under to a large group of Indian voters up there who find the word "squaw" offensive.

    The name Squaw Creek was written on the first maps of Iowa. White men, not Indians, made those maps. Why is it now, in the name of political correctness, all the current maps made by Christian white men must be burned? New maps with names from a group that had never read the Bible until taught by northern Europeans are now required.

    When we Northern Europeans came here with the Bible we saved the Indian people from an eternity in hell. That gives us the right to name bodies of water like Squaw Creek.

    One of the points of emphasis from the board, in regards to a potential name, was selecting a name that honors the Native American tribes relevant to Iowa.
    Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

    Those are not Indian warriors complaining, Mr. Mayor. They are social justice warriors who believe they are fighting bigotry behind their computer screens. We have the same problem here in Texas. Hippies in Austin are always complaining about Former Governor Rick Perry's Niggerhead Ranch. They don't seem to understand that the ranch is named after a well known local geographical feature. In East Texas there is a town named Nigton. It's on the road map, even though it is very small and the hippies are outraged about that too. They want that town called something else less offensive, but the residents, all Negroes, are having none of it. They like living in Nigton.

      It would appear they haven't taken it to heart if they even read it at all, Brother. Where is the hospitality in complaining and bullying others to do what you demand? They will learn the errors of their ways when Satan starts his eternal lessons for them.

      Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

        Might as well purify the rest of our cartography while we're at it. I love the Godly state of Iowa, but I don't want to be reminded of the heathen Ioway whenever I visit the state. And why is it that every time I go into Omaha on business, I'm forcibly reminded that there were once unsaved savages here in my very own state? It's insulting and offensive to Christians to have to put up with this. I'd write more, but I promised my boy Kenny that I'd take him out ice fishing on Dead Nigger Pond.
        I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
        Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
        But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
        From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

          I'm pretty certain that when the white man first set eyes on that creek there were some injun squaws out there doing laundry - hence Squaw Creek, as an honor. There's nothing wrong with squaw work - somebody's got to do it.

          I think there is something else going on here - like socialist Bernie Sanders is rising in the Iowa polls and Elizabeth "Gray Beaver" Warren is tanking. There's probably some Warren PAC that is behind all this agitating - they want that creek named after her.

          Besides, these days if you claim to be from Squaw Creek it's an easy ticket to get into Harvard.
          Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
          brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
          ...and get off my lawn

            Greetings!

            The white man has stolen everything even the creeks and hills and everything else whether they can carry it off or not. They even name places after the people they stole them from. If the white people are going to keep the creek they should give it some kind of white people name.

              Let's be serious about the consequences here. Suppose someone is driving, carefully following his map, and comes to the landmark he has circled, "Squaw Creek." He sees a creek and reads the sign to make sure he is not lost. The sign has been changed to "County Creek" for political correctness. The driver then is lost. We cannot always assume things will turn out OK.

              This whole thing is political correctness carried too far.

                Brother Mr Mayor, Sir, I believe that the young "woke" brigade have dispensed with proper maps and now use those murderous electronic "GPS" gadgets that nag you in annoying female voices. You know the sort of thing - they sit on the dashboard and scream "Turn Right! NOW!!!" at you as you're driving along the edge of a cliff. (My husband says if he wants that, he'll take his stepmother along to navigate. )

                So those will all have to be re-programmed, at enormous inconvenience to everyone.

                  If it were good enough for my father and his father before him, then it's good enough for me and the rest of the population. Nobody likes change and the truth of history becomes obscured. You will note that the Bible has not been updated to include cars and X-boxes - God's Truth is eternal and unchanging - we would do well to follow His Lead.
