Default Catholic feminazi flees from the Bible! Typical. - 12-28-2007, 01:22 AM

I am so offended and just utterly confused at the nonsense on this site. I don’t even know how I stumbled across this site but I started by reading an article about “trashy” Catholic girls trying to
“seduce” your amazing Baptist boys and my mouth dropped. And I wish I hadn’t started reading all of the things I read on this site but I did and I have to say something about it.

First of all, I’m a Catholic young woman. I’m not here to call you names or damn you to hell or anything like that. I am genuinely confused with the mindset of every single person posting here and it upsets me to hear people who claim to be Godly and holy saying what you’re saying. I don’t know where to begin because I read so much awful stuff… my answers are going to be random but it’s all directed as replies to things I read.
For the past 4 years I have been a part of an organization called Pure Fashion… now the southeast’s largest annual fashion show. Pure Fashion is a fashion show and 9-month program to teach girls why and how to be modest and pure. The show models modest clothing to girls, and gives them and their mothers guidelines on how to dress modestly. About 7 years ago a group of Catholic mothers and young ladies founded Pure Fashion and put on the show… since then, many generous and holy Catholic people have given support, money, and time to make the show bigger, and to get more publicity to reach out to others who do not understand the importance of purity. I was a model in the fashion show for 3 years. I have been going out with my boyfriend for over 2 years and we have remained completely pure in our relationship. I try to dress, speak, and act as purely and modestly as possible so that I don’t tempt him. I have many girl friends and acquaintances- some are Catholic, some are Baptist, some are Methodist, etc. And all I have to say is that I have found much more of an interest in staying pure and modest in the Catholic community than in the Protestant one. And also… notice how the founders of Pure Fashion actually did something about the problem of immodesty! Something proactive, something apostolic… instead of calling people names on the internet.
People are not required to drink “Communion wine” (also what we reverently know as the Blood of Christ, just as Jesus told us). Catholics may just receive the host (the unleavened bread consecrated and transubstantiated into the Body of Christ). The Catholic Church has never promoted drunkenness. And I assure you the Pope wasn't trying to hustle drugs. The ad itself tells how the Pope merely praised the wine TONIC as a cure for illness. And no one puts anything into the “wine” at Mass. It almost shows how weak your argument is that you have to sarcastically muse about things you do not know about.
Why are you racist?
John the BAPTIST was named a BAPTIST because he BAPTIZED people. Not because he was a member of a religion instituted in 1641 that branched off from the Catholic Church. (seriously).
“help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst”. That’s not a very kind prayer, especially the part about you wishing damnation upon the innocent children that Christ loves so much.
I have read all of the posts that all of the other Catholics have put on here, and I understand that you haven’t had any solid arguments. However, I care about my faith more than anything. I study it, I pray, I go to church, I read the Bible. I would be more than happy to answer questions and reply to any of your accusations. I love God and I know my stuff. You all have my prayers and I look forward to hearing from you.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5:7
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get….” Matthew 7:1
“Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 10:13
“And the scribes and Pharisees bring unto him a woman taken in adultery: and they set her in the midst, and said to him: Master, this woman was even now taken in adultery. Now Moses in the law commanded us to stone such a one. But what sayest thou? And this they said tempting him, that they might accuse him. But Jesus bowing himself down, wrote with his finger on the ground. When therefore they continued asking him, he lifted up himself and said to them: “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” And again stooping down, he wrote on the ground. But they hearing this, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest. And Jesus alone remained, and the woman standing in the midst. Then Jesus lifting up himself, said to her: “Woman, where are they that accused thee? Hath no man condemned thee?” And she said: “No man, Lord.” And Jesus said: “Neither will I condemn thee. Go, and now sin no more.”” John 8:3-11

You have a lot of opinions for a woman...

Quote:

Quote:
I have been going out with my boyfriend for over 2 years and we have remained completely pure in our relationship.
1. You say your group was founded by Catholic mothers... you then go on to say that you have been with your 'boyfriend' (rather dubious term when speaking with Catholics, since a boyfriend to them can refer to homosexual partners, transgender and/or animals) for over two years. Does this mean you have been divorced?

2. Do you leave your baby in the crib while you neglect it by using the internets and/or smoke meth.

3. Does your boyfriend know you are currently using the internets or is he passed out on a bad glue huffing high?

4. Why are you not in the kitchen cooking meals of a delicious nature?

Thank you J I pride myself on being a strong, educated woman who can defend herself. My inspiration is Proverbs 31.
I am 18. I have never been divorced. Why would you ask? If you would not like me to refer to him as my “boyfriend”, then…. I will refer to him as the man I am dating. Is that better?
I do not have a baby, and would not “neglect” him or her if and when I have one. And the man I am dating does know that I am on the internet, because he is also Catholic like I am, and I share everything with him. I’ve been on the phone discussing the things I’ve found on your site with him actually.
And it is 10 o’clock at night, so I am not “in the kitchen”. Thanks. But I did help my mom cook dinner tonight. Although you are being slightly insulting and a little irrelevant, I am determined to be patient J

You left out “at the nonsense….” etc. It’s ok, I knew you would J

Where does it say that we cannot repeat the words of the angel Gabriel ***(satanic rant deleted)***

And then ask for prayers from Jesus’ MOM (the pure sinless virgin who God chose to BRING SALVATION TO THE WORLD, the WOMAN, his mother, that Christ obeyed at the wedding at Cana when he told her it was not his time to perform miracles, but she asked him to turn the water into wine for the wedding couple) ***(satanic rant deleted) Amen.***

Tell me where I sinned in that prayer? Tell me why it is wrong to go to the woman closest to Christ to ask her to pray for me and my soul?

My “rant” was not “hateful”. It was a fair inquiry. Your insults are hateful, and believe me, I have a quick temper and would love to insult you right back dear Brother J But I won’t J

Hmmmmmmm Enjoy fixing that one.
I just got your private message about how you don't want me to type in capital letters. I'm sorry if you thought I was yelling, I was just emphasizing. I will not stop solely because I am a woman, as your message rudely implied, but I will stop if it is personally offensive to you.

You are wrong. Baptists have been around since the beginning of Christianity. Take a look at this.

The Catholic faith, on the other hand, is a syncretic religion combining Roman paganism with some elements of Christianity. It was invented by Emperor Constantine several centuries after Jesus' death and resurrection. Emperor Constantine was the first pope. Take a look at this.

How very kind and respectful of you Mr. O'Hanley.

Well, I mean sure women are hormonal and can't do anything but bake... which brings me back to my point about Mary... that's exactly why God entrusted her, a woman, to be the vessel that brought Christ into the world. To bear Him in her womb for nine months, and to raise him from a child to a man. To follow God's plan for her in perfect obedience, to be strong throughout her life (giving birth in a stable, flight into Egypt, travelling with Christ and the apostles, being at the foot of the cross during the crucifixion, etc.)

Baking.

Exactly.

Pastor Billy-Reuben,

I read your links. You are wrong. (That is not to be rude, but you told me I was wrong before, so now I am telling you that you are.)

I could go through every single section and tell you what is wrong about it, but it's late. That's a task for tomorrow. But I promise, it will come. Until then, thank you for your patience.

The Church was established when Christ gave Peter the keys to the kingdom.... "You are Peter and upon this Rock I will build my Church...." etc. Also "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Confession perhaps?

As soon as I can find my religion midterm exam notes, I will get back to you on the historical proof of the Catholic Church's existence very early on after Christ's death and Resurrection. Again, thank you for your patience.

The difference is that Pastor Billy-Reuben provided a source, while you only provided your own say-so.

Seriously, do you think there weren't any Christians before the founding of the cathylick church?
It's called the ROMAN cathylick church for a reason, the reason being it was founded in Rome.
Christianity however, didn't start in Rome, but in Palestine.

Quote:

See, the problem here is.. Peter never went to Rome.
But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles
And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
Galatians 2:7-9

Peter (Cephas - The rock) went unto the circumcision, He was an apostle preaching to those of the CIRCUMCISION. That is jews!
But Rome was a GENTILE city! PAUL was the one who preached to gentiles.

As usual, you papist contradict the Bible and have no clue whatsoever.
You claim Peter was the first pope because you MUST, as otherwise, the authority you claim to have would be completely gone.
Sorry to break it to you: but Peter never went to Rome, Peter never preached to gentiles. He was NEVER a pope in Rome.

And also, NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that the authority that Peter was given by God was to be passed on through humans voting on the matter!

Also, you like to claim popes are infallible.
But scripture tells us that not even Peter was infallible.
(Not that he ever was pope, but the point still stands.)
He make mistakes with regards to doctrine and is rebuked by Jesus Himself. (Matthew 16:22-23)
So how could any pope be infallible then, if not even Peter was?

Quote:
Confession perhaps?
Try studying the Bible instead of buying into whatever your local "priest" tells you perhaps?

Now, regarding some of the other things you say:
Quote:
Thank you J I pride myself on being a strong, educated woman who can defend herself.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:
But he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:16-17

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased;
And he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Matthew 23:12

I would still like to know why (satanic rant deleted) was erased as a “satanic rant”. Does anyone have an answer?

Your ignorance of the term “Roman Catholic” is surprising. The term “Roman” is not actually used by the Church itself (“universal Church” is). It is a fairly modern term, and one that is also mostly confined to the English language. It is really slang, and a way to distinguish between that rite and the Byzantine rite, the Chaldean rite, the Maronite rite, etc. It makes sense, because our earthly leader of the Church (the Vicar of Christ, the Pope) is in Rome. The terms “Roman missal”, “Roman curia”, etc., are used correctly because they are coming from the Diocese of Rome. Check Church documents and you will find that “Roman Catholic” is not used.
So sorry you had to go and do all that research. It really wasn’t that difficult of a question.
A good further explanation to what I just said is here:http://www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/churb3.htm

Would you like me to put a link to all of my explanations? I figured you would dismiss them if they were Catholic, but since you have given me Baptist links I suppose it’s only fair
.
You also are ignorant of what being “infallible” entails. I think that you all think that we hold Popes to a higher level than human…. well, we don’t. We respect them VERY much for their holiness and their work to bring the kingdom of Christ. There have been some Popes with awful personal lives. There was a Pope who had children, Popes who sold indulgences, etc. However. Popes sin! They do not have or claim to have “infallible” personal lives! We would hope that they are good a holy examples, and MOST of them are (JP2)!! But sometimes throughout history they have fallen personally, and that is a shame and a sad reality. However, not a single Pope in the whole line of apostolic succession has changed a doctrine. Find one for me! Otherwise your accusations have no grounds. (I think someone accused me of using my own say-so?) Oh and also, learn the meaning of doctrine! The Bible verse you gave me (Matthew 16:23) recounts when Peter was scared of Christ dying, and told him “Lord, this should never happen to you!” As he was a human, and this had not happened yet, and I am sure he was reluctant to see his teacher and Lord be killed, of course he said this! How is this even relevant? Sorry, it has nothing to do with doctrine or infallibility. From dictionary.com:
doc•trine
n.
1. A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma.

I do study the Bible, thank you, and I believe that this is a clear indicator towards confession, or it would not have been included in the Bible.

I have no answer to your quotes about pride. If you took that to be a moment of my pride, forgive me. However, I only meant it to mean that I do my best to be a woman like the woman described in Proverbs 31 (you took out that part of my statement. Please quote me all the way if you’re going to quote me.)

The Inquisition was not merciful. I believe this may be the most irrelevant statement in your argument. Is this merciful? Is this morally correct?

I rest my case. We are all sinners. No Catholic claims to be perfect, we just know that we have the fullness of the Truth. Just because Catholics have made mistakes in the past does not mean the Catholic Church is incorrect.

But do you obey it? Do you even agree with the Bible?

So many people who call themselves "Christians" refuse to go into the details, because despite all of their talk, they are just weak-kneed, squeamish, bleeding-heart do-gooder liberals.

Do you agree that homosexuality should be punished with the death penalty?

Do you believe that fortunetelling should be punished with the death penalty?

Do you support the rules of engagement give to Christian armies in the Book of Joshua?

If you agree with Jesus on these issues, I will go on.

Disagree? By failing to register and debate me, you prove that liberals are factless frauds who only persuade through intimidation. To prove otherwise, debate me!

I'm almost as shocked at your accusng me of being a murderer as am an unsurprized by your dodging the question, and your attempt to accuse the Bible of containing contraditions.

So, for the record, I agree with the 5ths comnmandment, I am not a murderer, you need to answer the questions I asked you, and no, the Bible does not contain contradictions.

I did not accuse you of being a murderer. I asked you if you agreed with the 5th commandment, which is "You shall not kill."

You all think you are very smart trying to twist everyone's words and make them look like they are saying something that they're not.
You are also incredibly hypocritical- answer your question? Why don't you answer the pages of mine before you go on with your random homosexual death penalty stuff?

Please read my links and answer everything on my most recent longer post before we move on to another subject. I have given you that courtesy, and I have answered all of your accusations and replied to your statements in order, and I ask you to give it to me in return.

All I asked for was a "Yes" or a "No". Not very hard to do.

You asked me a yes/no question and I answered it.

Maybe because there's PAGES OF IT?

I'm not asking you to read pages of stuff, I'm just asking for a yes or a no:

Do you agree that homosexuality should be punished with the death penalty?

Do you believe that fortunetelling should be punished with the death penalty?

Do you support the rules of engagement given to Christian armies in the Book of Joshua?

I was asked earlier in a private message to not captialize my letters because it looked like yelling. I ask you to do the same, or let me write how I will.

No.

No.

Yes. At the time. I believe in the Bible and I believe in God's infinite wisdom. But when Jesus came, he came preaching a message of forgiveness and mercy. "Turning the other cheek" and "not judging". Believing anything else, especially believing that Christ cannot forgive certain sinners, is heretical.
