Report from the Green Zone -
07-23-2007, 09:32 PM
It's a peaceful night here in Iraq, where birds are singing cheerfully and grateful Iraqis are assembling outside the Embassy with torches and pitchforks of appreciation.
We had quite a successful day here, but it didn't look very good early this morning. The school that we were preparing to paint had been blown up overnight with a truck bomb. But thinking quickly in front of the embedded news media, we decided to paint the rubble. It's was a huge success!
Tonight we are celebrating with a quiet prayer for Our Brave Troops and Independent Contractors. Then we will enjoy a quiet lobster dinner (flown in nightly from Maine!) courtesy of Halliburton, and a night of playing Stratego and Jenga before returning to the compound.
So it was quite a good day here in Iraq, where we're turning the corner and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

What a breath of fresh air your reports are, Trent!
I imagine that explosion was just the result of failing Baathist-era infrastructure. An exploding steam pipe. Faulty electrical. No big deal.
Oh, but hey, about that Maine Lobster. Seeings how you're patriotically serving your country -- AT GREAT PERSONAL HARDSHIP, unlike the cut 'n' rum Democrats -- I thought I'd send you the recipe for Lobster Hardee’s-Style. I think you'll like it.
6 fresh, living Maine lobster, 1½ lb each
3 cup boxed pancake mix
5 cup club soda
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1½ teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoon seasoned salt
½ teaspoon ground ginger, optional
Steam the lobsters: Fill a large pot with 2-inches of water, and bring to a strong boil. Add a handful of salt for each lobster. Put the lobsters in the boiling water. Cook for 20 minutes. Take out. Let cool, and then pick the lobster meat out of the bodies.
Prepare the pancake batter: Combine the seasoning mixture and mix thoroughly.
Deep-fry the lobster meat: Dust the lobster meat lightly but evenly in flour, letting the meat dry on a waxed paper lined cookie sheet for a few minutes. Then dredge the meat in the batter, making sure to coat the pieces evenly.
Fry the battered lobster meat in small portions at a time in hot oil in an electric fry pan. Turn the meat once to brown evenly. Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels.
Serve at once with French fries and a shake. Or, if duty calls, and you find yourself helping an orphan wipe an exploded terrorist's entrails from the orphan's school books, this is a dish that tastes just as good cold! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Thanks for the recipe, Mr. Lee. It will make for a nice change of pace, because we have lobster, aged Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, and fresh Chilean Sea Bass almost every night. To tell you the truth, I am getting so sick of steamed lobster and all that drawn butter that I sometimes just eat a couple of bites before throwing the whole 3 pound lobster in the garbage!

That’s the democrats in action for you. You have heroes like Trent Harvey risking their lives for America every day and do the Democrats make sure Harvey needs what it takes to get the job done? No! The Left is doing its’ best to create another Vietnam in Iraq.

You could go without the lobster, or food in general for awhile and be just fine.

Are you one of those Breatharians?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Yeah, but Jesus was the son of God, this man is a mere human, like yourself. Where does it say he was a homosexual?

He dresses up like a married woman! Do you know what one of the defining features of a married woman is? They love men! If he lived in a civilised society, he'd be wearing a bridal dress, but he's a dothead, so he just has a dot on his head. Either way, the message is the same - unrepentant homerism.

Trent, you're doing such find work against the enemies of freedom that I'm sending you a gift certificate for the place my food comes from.
I especially reccomend their caviar sampler:
Unit: 3 caviars / 1 server / 2 spoon Per Piece: $198.00
Just make sure you order it with express shipping.

Wow Jeb, I'm already sweating in anticipation.Sweating more than usual, anyway. The Caviar looks good, but it's an aquired taste and I might share my food with one of the Iraqi translaters.
$165.00 for 12 lb of Speck Prosciutto, the best Ham ever? What a good deal. Now this is the REAL Bagdad looting spree!

Do you have large lobsters or big juicy lobsters? I have family deployed to the uncivilized frenges of human existence and I'm told they eat lobster every other day, but they are small lobster tails. A nice whole alaskan lobster doesn't sound all that bad right about now.

Bless you for all you do for your Country, Brother Trent and remember: When you face hardship & deprivation Over There, like maybe the lobster's Butter's gone cold on you and you have no time to re-heat it because you're busy at the same time with your Godly Blog to get the Word out to us civilians, yea, remember: You're doing it all for God and Country. In that order. In fact, I don't Believe that too many of the un-Godly would join our Military to serve these Noble Causes if not beat over the head with Religion (and for our own good).

Here is a photo from the current #1 CNN news story. It superceded all that grim & boring stuff, like people dying in fires in this Country. It's about.....Iraqis frolicking in pools in Baghdad.
Bravo, CNN! Well done! We must continue focusing on Iraq so that America realizes the necessity of Staying the Course; you know how forgetful folks can get otherwise.

Here we see a typical Iraqi having a day out with his wife.

Before George Bush liberated the Iraqis, were they even allowed to swim?
I heard that Sadaam Hussein and his brothers had "improper relations" parties at his palaces in Baghdad. Hopefully we've stopped all that immoral activity by getting rid of those vile sinners who were in power.
Premarital sex is only a roadblock to holiness. You don't need to touch another person's body–or your own–to have a rockin' good time!
Abstinence: it's not easy but neither are you!
