Did Adam go in unto Eve in the Garden of Eden? -
11-02-2007, 03:27 PM
I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but thought here was probably best, so as no women would see it and have inappropriate thoughts...anyway, it's a question that Christian theologians, and even a few Catholics, have pondered for centuries - did Adam p*n*tr*t* Eve before Original Sin took place? Some say yes, some say no, but never before has the question been posed in the form of an interweb poll on God's favourite forums. Come have your say on this vital theological question.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

I had originally voted no, but upon further reflection, I had to edit my vote.
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Before they were kicked out, it's already mentioned that they shall be one flesh (having the nookie).
So, thus, my vote is yes.

My opinion is that as long as Adam was INSIDE the garden of Eden, he was with God, and did not need to look elsewhere to occupy his thoughts, so no thought of fornication would have entered his mind.
Once he was cast out with Eve and was seperated from God, Eve found it easier to get his attention and took advantage of Adam.
The devil, whose business is to pervert the truth, mimics the exact circumstance of the Divine Sacraments. He baptises his believers and promises forgiveness of sins...he celebrates the oblation of bread, and brings in the symbol of the resurrection. Let us therefore acknowledge the craftiness of the devil, who copied certain things of those that be divine." Tertullian (155-222 AD) from The Prescription Against Heretics' Ch XL

I'd have to say yes, since they were there before they knew the difference between good and evil. Look at the kids these days; they're too young to know the difference between good and bad, and they are having sex everywhere.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Nobar,
God makes it clear the ignorance of the law is no excuse. Countless millions will burn in Hell because they were born in isolated, pagan tribes and they never bothered to go find out about Jesus. Flimsy excuses like you live in the stone age, there is an ocean and you had no idea there was anything beyond the ocean don't cut it with Our Lord as well it should. He is tough, but fair. GLORY!

Right, but Adam and Eve were perfect beings, so their fornication was pure, and not sinful. (The comparison to ignorant modern teens was loose, at best).
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Not to mention it most certainly was not incest. There have been certain depraved individuals who have suggested that since Eve was made from Adam’s rib that would make Eve Adam’s sister or daughter. That is ridicules. Since when has a rib been anyone’s sister or daughter? There are just too many people out there trying to turn The Bible into nonsense.

Many would agree with you, Brother V. but I am not amoungst them.
The Garden of Eden was a perfect place, as were Adam and Eve. I believe that they had a way of "being one flesh" back then, that did not involve all that smelly, slimey sin. The verse never says that Adam "went unto her". The Garden was a "no nookie zone". Even the animals didn't need that.
After Eve brought the house down and sinned by listening to the talking snake (satan), then God created intracourse as one of the punishments. I give thanks every day that He made Eve bleed from her genitals once a month, and not Adam.
Anyway, maybe some light petting was all they did, in my humble opinion. No nookie.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

the talking snake never had legs like the bible says and so there is no such thing as a curse on snakes crawling on their belly. funny. heh They can make really nice pets and they don't talk back. they are just cursed with taboo. heh.
How could Eve get such a bad wrap when there was only one guy to scr*w? (married, Adam) Why to this day does this stereotype exist?
If the Lord leads you to it, he will get you through it.

Kindly show us the exact verse or verses that you are referring to. I hope you are not trying to imply that the Word of God is anything less than perfect and true.
By the way, we do not take fornication as some kind of juvenile joke around here. Jesus reads these forums, so consider yourself warned.
You harlot-like tendencies and occasional feminazi outbursts are duly noted. Any further attempts to defend the unspeakably offensive sin of Eve will be dealt with harshly. True Christianity remains a distant goal for you I'm afraid.

Well, that would seem to settle it: if Satan's spokeswoman says they did it, then that proves that people without Original Sin would not have committed such an act. Unless the Father of Lies knew that, and deliberately instructed his harlot daughter to say they performed the act in order to confuse us? Theology sure can be tricky sometimes.

Re: Did Adam go in unto Eve in the Garden of Eden? -

Hmm. Let's see..
In Genesis 2:23-24 it says:
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
This is not a saying of how it was at the time, but how it was going to be (Therefore SHALL):
As Adam and Eve did not have parents to leave but was made by God...
And Adam couldn't know what such was either, not yet having eaten from the tree of knowledge.
This was actually a prophecy that Adam spoke.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:25
^ For they did not even know that they were naked! (Genesis 3:11)
So when one considers that, it becomes quite clear that they couldn't fornicate:
They wouldn't know how, as they literally knew nothing.
Also, the Bible doesn't mention any children or them "knowing" eachother before they were thrown out of the garden.
But first in Genesis 4, AFTER they were thrown out -
Does it mention that:
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said,
I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Genesis 4:1
Conclusion:
Adam did not go in unto Eve in the garden of Eden.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.
Proverbs 9:12-13

Read Genesis chapter 3 in the whole context. Verse 14 is great. God made it sound like a snake walked and had legs before. Why else would he say... "Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals. You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life."
That must be why reptiles love the desert.

Genesis 3:14 shows that you are completely incorrect. God did curse snakes. The fact that you think that satan's best friend might "make a really nice pet" only reveals your perverted tendencies. Whether snakes used to have legs or not is irrelevant. He can take the legs away from any animal (or lippy harlot) that He chooses.
3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Look at grasshoppers! Despite having six limbs, they can only go on four legs. How unfortunate is that? Don't make Jesus crush you like a grasshopper, repent of your [you as in Seeker, and any unsaved trash reading this thread, not Ezekiel, obviously] uppityness today!

Rachael, you ignorant slut!
Even science admits there was an Adam! Of course they get almost everything else wrong, but here is the link:
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...ncerwells.html
Science has admitted to the great flood and now adam and Eve. It's just a matter of time before they admit the Bible is 100% correct!
Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
