I'm sure he'd feel better if we told him his wife was in heaven.

You want us to lie to him?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Better than saying:
Oh your wife's trapped in her grave.
Will give him hope if we tell him, she's in heaven. If we told him she was trapped in the grave, it would surely make him feel depressed.

... would surely make him feel depressed ...
... would surely make him commit suicide, is more like it -- unless he gets straight with Jesus from now on, that is
1st Timothy 2: 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1st Timothy 2: 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works ...

If you were a doctor, and you found a patient had cancer, would you tell him he was fine and dandy, to give him hope, or tell him the truth, at the risk of making him feel depressed? We have enough blessings to be thankful for without having to take refuge in some made-up fairytale.

I'd tell him. But this is abit different. His wife should be in heaven.

Sister, I'd just like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your recent promotion to Gold tither. Jesus loves the generous.
I'd also like to ask if you'd be interested in donating to a cause I find worthy; compassionate assisted suicide for homosexuals run by my own charity; Deaner Love Inc.
We feel the burden of living your entire life knowing that you're going to burn in hell may not be compassionate (and therefore un-Christian) and we do all we can to ease their suffering.
Trusting you will see this as a real opportunity to continue demonstrating your love for Baby Jesus, I await your reply. Once again congratulations.

Wow. That sucks. Alcoholism is solved better through the steps given out at AA meetings. I suggest that over prayer. I especially advise this since prayer is useless. Goodluck Dwayne. Perhaps not sitting around and sulking in your miseries will be your saving grace. Then again, the fact you are wasting your time by plastering your pathetic lifestyle across the internet only proves you will lack the strength it takes to beat the disease of alcoholism.
My friends Mary Jane and Larry Ashy know exactly what you need to feel good. Let them show you the way to relaxation.

He's a lost cause. We prayed for him and did our best and the pathetic excuse for a human being ended up turning into a hippy. Well, at least he can look forward to visiting his wife in Hell, along with the whole family!
Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
