Should Christians think for themselves? -
10-07-2006, 07:25 PM
People who are only investigating True Christianity™ often ask us, “Should Christians think for themselves?” The Biblically correct answer is that we should not.
The Old and New Testaments both say that we should trust in the Lord with all our hearts rather than trying to figure things out for ourselves. In the second Genesis creation account (and both Genesis creation accounts are literally true), God’s first commandment to man was the following:
Gen. 2:16-17: And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
We all remember what happened when he violated that commandment.
That commandment was reinforced in a different form later in the Old Testament:
Proverbs 3:5-7: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Lest any phony-baloney liberal “Christian” should tell you that that commandment was “nailed to the Cross,” it was repeated in the New Testament:
Colossians 2:8: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
By the way, this is the only time the word “philosophy” occurs in the entire King James Bible. Also, philosophy is the invention of the ancient Greeks, who also gave the world the cult of homosexuality, so that tells us how much we can trust it.
Moreover, Jesus taught us that we will know them by their fruits (Matt. 7:16). If the fruits of too much thinking include atheism, the tree itself must not be one intended for Christians.
In addition, Jesus hates evidence and loves blind faith:
John 20:29: Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.
Finally, as Saved® Christians, we have no need to think for ourselves, since we have Christ to do our thinking for us:
I Corinthians 2:16: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Praise His holy name!

What an excellent post. Remember, Christ tells us repeatedly that only those who become as little children will enter the kingdom of heaven:
Matthew 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
It's worth stressing that, when Jesus says we are to become as little children, He means we are to be unquestioningly complaint and incapable of rational thought, not that we should be molested by Catholic priests.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Aye, independent thought is for the birds! Thinking can be a painful, toilsome process that only tends to distract one from The Bible and causes horrible headaches. Thankfully, The Lord has seen fit to do all of our thinking for us. When in doubt, refer to the KJV 1611. If the solution to your problem isn't in the Bible, then there really wasn't a problem to begin with. Praise!
Some examples:
The Greenhouse Effect: there is no Biblical reference, therefore there is no reason to worry about it. It doesn't exist. Clearcut those forests to make room for more factories, I say!
Over population: in spite of secular opinion, multiplying like there's no tomorrow isn't a problem at all. In fact, it's a Biblical mandate.
Extinction: once again, no Biblical references, so it is obvious that every type of creature that was created in The Beginning, and was taken aboard the ark by Noah, still exists on the earth today, and yes...that means dinosaurs, mammoths, sabretooth tigers, dodo birds, passenger pigeons, tasmanian wolves, etc. They are most likely isolated in some hidden valley, remote mountain top, subterranian lair, or uncharted island. Don't waste your time worrying about extinction, it doesn't happen.
Evilution: pet theory of secular pseudo-scientists. The Bible proves evilution to be a pack of lies, in spite of any contrary "evidence" planted in the fossil record by satan. It doesn't exist, and thinking about it too much only opens up a doorway to hell.

Thank you for that clarification. It sometimes seems that the Romanists have discarded the entire Bible except the following verse:
Mark 10:13: And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and [his] disciples rebuked those that brought [them].

Well THAT is obviously not true. All you do is babble and chatter about your simian family tree and spit on Jesus. A normal person wouldn't say such things. Even a female.

Amen Pastor Ezekiel!
Van Helsing, isn't it high time you allow yourself to be assimilated into the True Christian™ collective? You've been resisting Christ's Love for as long as I can remember, can't you see how futile that is? Get with the program, darling! You know the drill...read the KJV 1611 from cover to cover (paying extra special attention to the verses referencing a woman's duties), tithe and repent. Do this and you will be instantly transported to the high ground of moral superiority, and a place in Heaven will be secured for you. You will be beyond all reproach!
How would you like to be addressed as Sister Rachael, hmmm? Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

So no female that believes in evolution could possibly be normal?

Of course you are confused.
You're a dim-witted woman. What else to expect?
STOP trying to think. And START baking little soldiers for Jesus!
That's the way to Salvation for women.. if you'd ever read the Bible you'd know that.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.

No, what I meant was that no female can think normally, and that no normal person would believe the claptrap that is passed off as evilution.

Well, females and males do think differently.
For instance, we think about more than just food, beer, football and...er....procreation.
And a LOT of people believe in evolution!

I'm not threatening you at all, my dear Zeke.
Merely saying that IF you were at an ACLU convention saying those things, if you happened to passionately insult some very passionate (and muscular) liberals, they may not take it so well.
Sheeesh, this is what I get for trying to be helpful.
