Creation Myths of the Deluded -
04-15-2018, 11:52 PM
I was reading the other day how, according to Greek Mythology, humans were originally created with 4 arms, 4 legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, and, by doing this condemned them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.
And like you, I thought, "Well, how would that work? Wouldn't there be blood all over the place and only half a brain, and what about the bits that women have?"
It is clear that someone who drank too much Rezina made that one up off the top of his head (or half-head!)
I turned to my library and read of how in Norse fairy tales, the gods eventually formed the first man and woman, Ask and Embla, from two tree trunks. And then… you're not going to believe this: the god Odin gave the logs spirit and life, the goddess Ve gave them movement, mind and intelligence and the god Vili gave them shape, speech, feelings and the five senses. The gods then built a fence around where they lived, Midgard, to protect them from the giants that were around at the time.
Seems strange that the gods (how many were there? Why were there so many? Why was this done by a committee?) would use trees to make people – there’s nothing much that resembles a tree about us, is there? Perhaps these Norse types had a lot of trees and no imagination. And why would there be giants? And where are they now?
It’s the “trees” bit that lets this story down, isn’t it?
Flicking through the pages at random, I came across the Eskimo children’s bedtime story, and I guarantee that you’ll never guess how man came to the earth… read on:
The raven made the world and the waters with beats of his wings. He had the powers of both a man and bird, and could change from one to the other simply by pulling his bead above his head as one lifts up a mask. His earth was dark and silent. He had created water and mountains, and had filled the land with growing pea plants. After five days, one of the pea-pods burst open; out popped a fully-grown man,
The Raven was astonished. He had had no idea that something like this would happen. However, he realized that berries alone wouldn't be enough to feed man so the Raven then made mountain sheep from clay.
The Raven went on making fish, birds and other animals, and waved his wings over each one to bring it to life. Each one he put some place out of Man’s reach so that he wouldn't kill them all – the fish in the rivers and the birds in the air. Already Raven could see other men growing in pea-pods, and they were soon going to emerge hungry too.
Raven created a huge bear from the same clay, to make sure Man had something to fear. After a few days, Raven noticed that Man was lonely and built a woman out of clay: "Your helper and companion,”said the Raven. Man was very pleased. Together they filled the earth with their children and before long Raven’s earth filled with the sound of many voices, and overflowing with many forms of life.
Now, you can see how these Eskimos got it all wrong –
Pea-pods = No
Clay= Yes. (But not the woman - that was the man - Adam)
Women as helpers = Yes
A bird making them, No.
This led me to think how, over the centuries, the world has been deluded either by false prophets or fools who are too proud to admit that they did not know.
Each one of those poor deluded primitives has been lied to and as a result - their souls are in the eternal fires of Hell. Not one story of how man came to be created is in any way believable. As I read more of them, some aspect of the Truth of Genesis may shine through but, for the majority the stories are no more than entertaining trivia and lies enforced by fools.
The idea of God making man from mud and woman from the man's rib is so obviously true that it is a complete mystery why anyone would even begin to think that man's arrival on earth was any other way!
AN APPEAL
A serious aspect of this is that thousands of souls are condemned to an eternity in Hell – that is the price you pay for listening to false prophets and fools.
Think about these people… Yes, we are looking for donations –a minimum of $1,000 to sponsor missionaries who can do so much for the ignorantand gullible:
$1,000 will provide a Missionary with an air-ticket and 5 days at a hotel near savages.
$5,000 will provide a missionary for a month, 200 Bibles and a full 24 hours of the Landover Prayer Warriors
$10,000 will provide a missionary for a month, 500 Bibles,an portable altar and baptismal pool and a full 48 hours of the Landover PrayerWarriors.
Please give generously.

While we are on the subject, i have the creation myths of some other mythologies as well. And they are all one more absurd than the other.
In Sumerian Mythology's Inuwa Ili Awilum, Enki created the first human, Adapa, by using clay and the blood of Kingu. Cleary a distorted version of the Book of Genesis.
In Mayan Mythology, the Gods attempted to create humans various times. First using the earth, then clay, then wood before deciding to use corn. Our God is obviusly the real one because he didn't failed when he created Adam (unless we count the Kabballah).
In Aztec Mythology the humans where originally giants, who were eaten by jaguars. Then there where regular mens who hated their creators, so they where slain by a tornado and those who survived became monkeys. The third offspring where incinerated by the flames and the fourth offspring where turned into fishes during a Flood. Tata and Nene, who survived the flood, where decapitated and turned into dogs for eating the fishes. Then Quetzalcoatl stole the bones from the Aztec hell and used them, along whit divine blood, to create the humans. Is this a reverse evolution?
In Indian Mythology all the species were born when the Gods sacrificed a giant named Purasa. Why would a God need to sacrifice something to himself?
In the Avesta of Zoroastrianism, Gayomart, the first man, was created by the fravashi (souls) along with a magic Bull. Angra Mainyu killed the Bull and poisoned Gayomart, whose blood was used to create a tree who created the first man and woman Mashya and Mashyana. Again, we have men born from trees, but also from the sacrifice of another man.
As we can see, heathens have indeed absurd myths. Thankfully, when Jesus comes back, they will repent and join the Christian Roman Catholic Apostolic Church.

Does that include the myth of God being worshipped as an idol?

It's not just distorted - the Sumerians basically pre-stole the whole idea of creation of earth (including the waters above being separated from waters below), the flood, and many other Biblical stories. The audacity!...

It's been years since I wrote that post. Time to add more delusions:
The Inuit people believes that a crow named Tulugaq created the first man when he dropped some seeds on the earth and they sprout some fruits, that's where man came from.
In the Slavic Mythology Svarog and Lada accidentaly created the mankind when they threw stones at each other.
In the stories of Fang people Mebege created the first man Nzame when he made a lizard statue and put it in the water. Later, he created Oyeme, the first woman, when he took a finger from Nzame in order to create another lizard statue.
Yorubas believe that Obatala created mankind from clay but came out with some imperfections because he was drunk.
The Dinka of Sudan believes that Nhialic created men and women when he made statues of clay and put them in a vase for a night.
In some versions of the Chinese Myths, Nuwa created humans using a yellow clay.
In the Turkic myths Kayra-han created five men and four women from some tree branches.

A talking raven? LOL at those ignorant savages and their superstitions! Everyone knows that ravens can't talk. In all of history, only two animals have talked, the snake in the Garden if Eden in Genesis 2 and Balaam's ass in Numbers 22.

This one tugs at the heartstrings a bit. Those poor benighted savages sitting around wondering why God made them inferior to the White Man.

It also neatly captures the symptoms of fetal alcohol abuse syndrome in their mythology, like the curse of Ham and all his descendants.

One can see the need for the kind of deep theology provided by Pastor Bathfire. The world is filled with fake religions and fake stories about the creation. Not every faith, not even every branch of Christianity, has access to a deep bench of theologians. We have that advantage here at Landover Baptist.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Fruit! This is quite remarkable. You would have thought that this one would never fly: The Eskimos aren't noted for their pineapple harvest or export of oranges.
