Is it Wrong for Me to Live Alone? -
01-12-2014, 08:52 PM
Good Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
My desire is to move my residence closer to Freehold until I find a good realtor to help secure the perfect townhome within that halcyon gated community. With Mother showing signs of early-onset dementia and Father's reluctance to leave his home of more than 52 years, I am torn as to what I should do.
I can't tolerate Mother's sin (she wouldn't be losing her mind if she was in good stead with Jesus) (Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keepe him in perfect peace, whose minde is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.") and it is not my place to go against Father. I am hopeful that trusting in Jesus will make all things fall into place.
So: do I bring my parents along, or branch out on my own, selling my pie to keep a roof over my head until I can open a House of Holy Pie in Freehold? I am in no hurry to make a decision, but it would be nice to be able to plan.
What say you, my dearest friends, whose trust in Jesus has proven His ability to lead us where we should go?
(Isaiah 48:17 "Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the holy one of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest goe.")
1 Samuel 8:13 "And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cookes, and to be bakers." Naomi Ruth Lamb, Proprietress:

How old are you, dear?
Do you have any brothers who might care for you?
Your place is really to care for your parents until they pass away.

Dementia? You mean demon possession? I think you should bring your parents to live with you considering your mother may be filled with demons. What if she needs an exorcism and nobody is around to get help from a Pastor? I don't think its a good idea for you to leave your demon possessed mother by herself. In the meantime I will pray that Jesus forces the demons out of your mother.

My Good Sister, your story touches me. Not because of your parents and their situation, but because of what you must be going through in being a woman and trying to make decisions. This is a man's world, and as a mere helpmeet, your brain isn't entirely fit for this kind of thing. So here is some Pastoral wisdom.
You are correct in stating that your Alzheimer-ridden mother has somehow fallen out of God's graces, since she is losing her mind, and therefore, cannot repent. And since you are already aware that not having children will damn a female to hell (1 Tim 2:15), we'll just move onto the issue of where to live.
Living with family and getting siblings to help out caring for mom and pop isn't a bad arrangement, but you can also do what many Christians do and put them in a nursing home. In the case of dad, you might have to get Power of Attorney over him and force him to go as well but it might be well worth it. Lots of Christians cut their parents lose, and this appears to be in line with Scripture...
Genesis 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (see also Matthew 19:5; Ephesians 5:31; Luke 14:26)
And you won't have to go against your father. I can hook you up with a great Jew attorney I use and he will be the one to do that. Of a truth you have said that Jesus will make all things fall into place!
A woman shouldn't live alone anyway since their fickle, pernicious minds have a hard time staying focused on serving the Lord and their husbands. There are just too many distractions with things like shopping, TV, and idle time for vile activities that involve the clitoris. So many dangers, dear, but I know I don't have to elaborate further.
Praising our sweet Jesus!
Pastor Ed

I am so grateful for your input. If only I had a penis and testicles right now, so I would know what to do. Had my parents been in better favor with GOD, the decision would be so simple.
Is there a good nursing home in Freehold (or outside the gates)? That way, Jesus could watch over mom and dad and I could visit when I am not selling my famous pie. If the mayor happens to know if a suitable storefront is available on Paul Crouch Drive or Blvd or whatever it was (I am a ditzy female, not too keen on remembering important details), I hope he will offer me good rent on the property.
I am getting excited about this - perhaps too much so. Kindly forgive me if I sound like a babbling broad; I truly don't mean to.
In Him,
NRL

Paster Zeke - you are very clever. On your link is the perfect condo for Mr and Mrs Lamb Sr - a snap at only $750k.

Pastor Ed: Can you get that Joo lawyer to help me get a power of attorney for the deposit on the condo for Mom and Dad? I spoke to them tonight and while Father is actually enthused about a move to Freehold, Mother won't co-sign the check.
When I spoke with Marla (What a doll!) she said there would be room enough for me in the condo until I find a place. She's got a few in mind for me already. She really perked up when she found out that I had been saving the money from pie sales for several years and that stock Father purchased in Microsoft and Google in my name had provided for a nice down payment. I was impressed that my purchase price includes a tithing plan.
I must not rush this decision, but I really love 1380 Apostle's Park Court. What a steal! I hope my pie is popular in Iowa. Pastor Ezekiel, thank you so much for hooking me up with Marla. I just love her.
She shared some funny anecdotes about your search for a home when you first came to town!
