Realistically speaking (and with a little scientific background), the universe is constantly expanding as well as the solar system. Going with that, Earth is currently in an idea position in relation to the sun to support life. I don't personally believe this, but if I was supporting your ideas here, I'd say that God made the other planets for humans to inhabit after Earth becomes unsuitable to sustain life (as it will be within 5 billion years).

VERY TRUE!
Besides, the bible is talking about 'lights'. It was never talking about planets, because people didn't know that there were any other planets...
Also; Why are (some) christians getting mad when a scientist says that the moon is reflecting the sun's rays?

I once pondered this very same question, and figured that God created other planets to keep the scientists and astrologers busy before He dispatches them to Hell. But then I realized that I shouldn't be questioning God's motives, and stopped asking questions.
A baby is a human being, not a stem cell!
Psalm 139:19-20
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Because the moon is described in genesis as a light, not a reflective surface for the sun. For some folks, where reality contradicts the bible, reality must be wrong.

Landover Church is the ONLY Church, that accepts and follows the entire Word of God. This is what He wanted. What else would you call the revelation of True Christianity?
We know also that we are blessed daily with riches and joys from The Lord.

This is because of
Ge:1:16: And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

And you disagree? If so, what makes the moon 'shine'?

I don't know and I don't care. God said it is a light.
almost 400 years of Landover history and we've never found a church that is anywhere near to teaching the complete Word of God, as Landover does. All the others are just social gathering places where they create gods from selected verses of the Bible to suit the ignorant and gullible.

Ok, how can the moonshine be a reflection of the sun? When it's midnight and the moon is full and shining down on us, do you see a sun around? No. The sun is on the other side of the earth. How can the moon be illuminated by the sun when the earth is blocking it? Think about it.
The moon shines because it is so white. Everything around it is pure black of outer space so it really stands out and that is what causes the glow.

Good gods. There is no colour without light. What do you think is happening during the moon's phases? Or a new moon? Or a lunar eclipse?

Other planets? Do you actually buy into the science fiction notion that those small lights in the sky that God gave us for signs, seasons, days, and years (Gen 1:14) are whole other worlds millions of miles away?

What's an American like you perverting English with that inferior British spelling? What are you some kind of language traitor?
There's a simple explanation for your questions. Now, you have heard of the "dark side of the moon", yes? That Satanist rock group Pink Floyd put out an album called just that, so certainly someone like you is familiar then. Now, there are two sides of the moon: light and dark side. The light side of the moon is all white, the dark side is black.
The phases of the moon are explained by the moon rotating so you can see both the light and dark sides of the moon at the same time. A full moon is when you see all of the light side; a new moon when you see only the dark side. Waxing, waning, gibbous, crescent, those are just intermediary stages of the rotation.
That is science, kid.

Then how come you can look at a landmark on the moon's surface, such as a crater, which is fully in light one night, then half-obscured the next? I don't think you've thought this out too well.
As for my spelling, I just happen to like Received Standard English.

Have you thought this out?
The moon's surfaces all look the same. It's just a bunch of craters. How do you even know you are looking at the same crater when they all look alike?
Think of a golf ball: It is peppered with dimples all over the surface. Rotate the golf ball any number of degrees and it still looks the same.

Wrong: The moon has very distinctive features. Can you point out the Sea of Tranquility? the Oceanus Procellarum? Copernicus Crater? Thought not.

No, I can't point them out...and neither can you...since the craters all look the same.
"Sea of Tranquility"? Now I know you're just pulling my leg. There are no seas on the moon! Get back to me when you come up with some real science.

I guess the image is pretty self explainable.
The moon is not really white though, it's more kinda grey-ish (although it seems white ) And like some people say (including myself), the moon reflects the rays of the sun.
The more you know...

Sorry for the big image, I didn't realise it was that big
Anyway, the moon is also ALWAYS facing the same part of the moon to the earth. So we should be able to see the same part of the moon where ever we are.

Now would be the time for you to back it up with scripture.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Here at Landover Baptist Church, we only use the one TRUE Bible, the Holy KJV1611 Authorized Version. The "scripture" that you have quoted in your signature is of a false version, which angers God. Kindly remove it, and replace it with the correct version:
Quote:
Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
|
Also please keep in mind that the signature space is allocated for posting Scripture, not demonic messages. There is only one truth™, and that is God's Truth™.
If you are at all confused about how to tell with certainty which Bible is the TRUE Word of God, please see my sermon on the subject HERE.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)
