Friend, the passages in the Bible were written thousands of years ago...before America was known to exist. Now, if the scribes who had the KJV1611 dictated to them by God in the language he prefers, were to somehow sneak a reference in about America...well, that would just ruin the integrity of the Bible now wouldn't it? People would easily spot it and call the Bible a useless piece of trash.

Keep in mind, the Bible never said anything about not allowing darkies to sleep on their porch all day; but that doesn't make it right.

If it's not in the Bible I sharn't believe it. You can' just say things as fact, and say God likes this, when you have no biblical proof for it. If the King James bible is the word of God, then anyone with access to it, is surely then as equal as you americans. If they follow the way you do. Then the country of origin is irrelevent, Because no where does it say God loves americans most. Now if someone was to find such a passage which clearly says America. I would jump off my broomstick and convert. This is how sure I am that no such passage exists!

And the most Americans I have met in person find it hard to complete sentences, and end each sentence as though it was a question! which evidently the Americans on here do not do.Besides many peoples of Europe speak English as a second language (myself) And I would say we are doing a fine job of it.

No, I wouldn't say "shan't" is incorrect at all. It's just that it is very English English -- BBC type pratt talk -- or even slightly old-fashioned. You'll find it in Jane Austen and other books of that type, but I don't think that you'll hear it often in God's own language American (instead of 'will') and especially not colloquial American. As a contraction of "shall not", it is perfectly acceptable, but 'shall' itself, although not what I'd call "incorrect", is not often used by native speakers outside the south of England, except in questions like 'shall we dance?'.

There is a "rule" about the difference between 'shall' and 'will' but it is a disputed one. The 'rule' is a grammarian imposed one and the short version of it often taught is worse than useless. Few native speakers ever follow the rule in practice. I certainly don't and I doubt anyone else here does. What use is a rule that most native speakers -- including greats of the language (and Winston Churchill too, ignore?).

"Shall" is used in legal documents to indicate compulsion and requirement, but that's a quite different situation.

For practical purposes such statements as:

"I will go" and "I shall go", are identical, with the use of 'shall' diminishing, especially outside the South of England.
