your proof is a book? and what you perceive as flawed science that is unbelievable?

there are millions of books written in the world by many people, some joint authors, some just one. the bible was written by many different people, all contributing to it, and most of these stories are past down through generations and generations. have you ever played the game chinese whispers? most of the time things are passed down wrongly or someone exagerates or something or even makes it up completely for the fun of it, you cant base the proof of god and religion on chinese whispers.

as for "flawed science" not all scientists are atheists, some believe in god, however they have adapted their belief due to proof, they have prooved that the earth is in its millions not thousands of years old, it has actually been proved, all of it, evolution, fossils and you can take that up with a scientist if you are really that ignorant. you dont have to stop believing in god, but im sure he wouldnt mind if you adapted what you have been told.

religion was adopted to explain the things people didnt understand, they used to worship the sun because they thought it was a god, and they thought the world was flat, but when they were shown otherwise they accepted that, they accepted that the earth wasnt the center of the universe, they accepted what caused the weather, what made food grow and what made children, and they no longer believed it was gods that did this. you dont have to stop believing, you just have to be open to new ideas, to new perceptions.

In heaven we will serve God.

And we will be able to serve God without having to fight sin. Our service will be pure. It will be without any selfish motives or pride.

And we shall serve Him. We will be active. We will have things to do in heaven. We will be serving God. We are not told what all this service will entail.

Hi there. Before i make a post containing my every thought regarding this thread, I'd like to make a few things clear. I mean no disrespect to anyone here, (as i never mean any disrespect to anyone) because everything i say is within the bounds of a single human's common judgment and outlook on the world. I am non-religious but realize that religious vs. non-religious arguments are pointless because neither party can win.

Here goes.

The video in the OP is completely ridiculous, and so is everyone who uses that logic to prove God's existence. How has nobody here realized that you're using recursive logic? Here's how it claims to work: The Bible exists because it was written by God, but God exists because it's written in the Bible. Don't you see that you're back at square one? You've never proven God exists, you've only proven that a book that he wrote says he exists, but... he wrote it so you haven't yet proved his existence! It's sort of like a catch-22, but one that has overdosed on stupidity. By that same logic, every single other religion's God exists as well, because it says so in their handy little all-is-proven books. How will you disprove Islamic faith when they have a book just like yours that says all their beliefs in it? If you've ever taken a Geometry course, or anything else that educates logic, you'll know you have to start from a fact that everyone agrees on, if you're going to prove what was previously a postulate. When you set out to prove element A, you cannot use a product of element A to prove it. Just like you can't use a product of God to prove God.

In other news. You seem to be denying the validity of all science and technology. Now, for purposes of this argument, i will *accept* that the world was created a few thousand years ago (so we don't fight over that) and go from there. I'll also accept (for a second or two) that God created the world. Humans (over the past 2000 years at least) have developed new technology, new standards of life, new politics, new knowledge of the world, not to mention computers, they've invented the Apache Webserver and the vBulletin CMS (which your fancy website runs on), and God hasn't taken part in any of this. My question is, where has he gone? He came up with the human race (which in my opinion is pure genius, with the complexity of our reproductive systems and minds), he created the world, an infnitely sized universe, and just now when his delightful human race is started, he left us to come up with everything ourselves. The very fact that we've come up with so much by the year 2008 should be sufficient reason to tell you we (as humans) are much more intelligent than God, and that our science is superior. Think of a world with no science: There is no communication over long distances, no media, no printers to print the Bible on, no forums to bash atheists on, no cameras to record anti-atheist videos, nothing at all. As a conclusion to this thought, i offer one question closely tied into the second or third reply to this thread. If God is there and it's so important that we know he's there, and pray to him, why hasn't he done something to literally convince every human in the world of his existence? Doesn't he see the fact that you Christians only have a small percentage of the world following your beliefs? Doesn't it bother him that by your logic, everyone else in the world will go to hell? And no, the fact that he created the universe isn't proof he exists (we're getting into that recursive logic i talked about earlier).

Finally, regarding Pastor Ezekiel's sig: If all of that is true, then Jesus will damn every human in the world. I don't think anyone can live their entire life without disobeying their parents, lying, and much more in that list. Not to mention the fact that only about 5% of all Christians are motivated enough to even TRY to live their lives without any of that.

I realize that not everything scientific, including the theory of evolution has been proven in any way, but please understand that science has somewhat more proof than loop-logic. Nobody goes around saying that humans have evolved because we are here to say that we've evolved. Even though that uses the exact same logic that you used in the OP.

Once again, no disrespect, and i don't think i'll change too many people, but it's worth it to share my thought. As i've mentioned, the religious vs. non-religious argument is pointless because neither party has any proof. One funny idea though: Science has sure as hell gotten closer to proving itself, while during the last 2000 years, religion has stagnated. Utterly stagnated at the exact same thing, and has gotten no closer to proving anything.

So, which are you? Are you an atheist trying to lead us from God and into your false religion of Atheism, or are you a former Christian, trying to lead us from God?

If you're just an atheist, we have to stone you to death. If you used to be a Christian, we have to kill you with a sword, along with your whole family, your pets, and any livestock, and burn down your house.
