Trump knows his Bible -
09-20-2015, 01:22 AM
...he was just testing all of us to see if we know it as well as he does:
Quote:
Donald Trump finally reveals his favourite Bible verse, which is, 'Never bend to envy' — but there's a problem: It doesn't exist
Reuters
Republican US presidential candidate businessman Donald Trump (left) speaks as former Florida Governor and fellow candidate Jeb Bush reacts during the second official Republican presidential candidates debate of the 2016 US presidential campaign at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, on Sept. 16, 2015.
Controversial Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump has finally revealed his favourite verse in the Bible after telling an interviewer last month that he doesn't want to say it because it's "very personal."
In an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network early this week, Trump said the particular biblical verse that resonates with him is about "envy" that comes from the "Book of Proverbs."
"There's so many things that you can learn from it [The Bible]. Proverbs, the chapter 'never bend to envy.' I've had that thing all of my life where people are bending to envy," Trump said.
But there's a problem. The "never bend to envy" verse cannot be found anywhere in the Book of Proverbs or anywhere else in the Holy Scriptures. Several verses, however, mentioned the word "envy."
When the Washington Post asked what Trump meant, CBN reporter David Brody says the business mogul was actually referring to Proverbs 24:1-2: "Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief."
However, this quote does not include the words "never," "bend," or "envy" as mentioned by Trump.
Nevertheless, while failing to successfully quote a Bible verse, Trump described the Holy Book as "special," and even compared it to an "incredible movie."

The truth is, that Donald was testing all of us, to see if we knew the Bible well enough to spot his intentional misquote of the Bible.
Donald is just so incredibly smart!!

I concur.
As you all know, I often test my Congregation on false Scripture as well. Which makes both of us brilliant.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

You have blind sided my many times with you brilliant testing through false scripture, Pastor Zeke. It has helped me grow in the faith.
I can see you and Donald Trump will share fun times when he is President. You can test each other. Two brilliant minds are sure to enjoy each other.

Sarah Palin is defending Donald Trump against biased left wing smear merchants trying to peddle the false notion that Donald Trump doesn't have a comprehensive and prolific understanding of the Bible.

He obviously loves the Bible so much that it is difficult for him to choose only one verse as a "favorite". That's a very personal question. Trump is not one of those liberal sissy Christians who only reads John 3:16 and ignores the rest of the Bible, he understands both The Old and New Testaments equally (that is to say, he probably has both of them completely memorized by now)
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

I have no doubt in my mind that the left leaning liberal media is simply splitting hairs over Donald Trump's supposed, "misquote" of the scriptures. As far as I'm concerned good ole Donald was just paraphrasing the verse as he is far too busy flying around the country, campaigning to recite biblical scripture verbatim. "Never bend to envy" sounds close enough to Proverbs 24:1–2 to me. After all, I'd like to hear some of those know-it-all, so-called journalists and fact checkers recite biblical verses exactly as they were written....in early 17th century English!
When will the members of the socialist press stop persecuting us God fearing Christians!
