Forgive me, I meant write in place of authorize, I've been up all night studying the history of music in the early 1900's.

Okay seriously, everyone makes mistakes every once in a while, we're all human, it's part of our nature. I'm not too keen on the idea of us seeking perfection, mainly because we'll never achieve it, but I really don't appreciate that you have the audacity to judge my educational standards based on a situational error that was made due to my level of exhaustion.
Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that the KJV bible was authorized by a suspected, and most likely proven, homosexual, ergo (along with other reasons) imperfect. Yes, it is still the word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit, but even the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

I profess that I mess up. I mean, by that standard, you're saying even Jesus himself isn't a true Christian. Well, he wasn't a Christian anyway (Christian being a follower of Christ, as far as the Bible says Jesus didn't follow himself), but still, my point stands. I am but a humble servant of God. As Pastor Bob said in Seminary today (yes I'm studying to become a pastor. A gay pastor.) "God helps those who help themselves. That means that we have to help ourselves get better, which also implies that we are not perfect. I know I'm not perfect. I never will be perfect anyway. He (God) Is the only one who is perfect, and the only one with the right to claim perfection."

Why would God tell us to be perfect if it was impossible?

Because we don't have to be. First of all, most, if not all, of the verses in your link were taken out of context of Jesus or Paul talking about Jesus. Second, Jesus lived a perfect life for us because God knew that we couldn't. We fall to temptation, because the world we live in isn't perfect and riddled with sin. We *ALL* sin on some level or another, be it as small as having a mean thought about someone or as big as adultery. We, as humans, have a duty to strive to be as good as possible, but not perfect. Nobody can reach perfection unless they can somehow beat sin, which is in and of itself impossible.
tl;dr Jesus did it so we didn't have to, which is why He's Jesus and we're us.

Hello, young man. I noticed you spewing your unsaved opinion without even attempting to support it with relevant Scripture - of which, of course, there is none for you vain, un-Biblical preconceived notions.

I would like your thoughts on the following verse.

Matthew 5:48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Do you accept the Word of God, or do you reject this verse like you reject every other Bible Fact that does not agree with your vain, worldly, preconceived opinions?

I think you will find Pastor Jones' sermon on Christian perfection to be edifying.

Matthew 5:48 is taken out of the beatitudes when Jesus is talking about loving our enemies as ourselves. He wasn't talking about overall moral perfection, but making attempts to be perfect through the love of everyone around us, just as Christ himself would.

Im glad theres someone here visiting them and who can teach them who knows the Bible. That is not my strong suite. Good for you! Maybe you can talk to them "in their Own language"

He's a cherry picking liar, He doesn't know his Bible, he knows how to quote mine it so that he can support his own viewpoints.

Here is an excellent example of a Good Pastor showing how God and him don't always agree. You don't think I wouldn't love to slap on a pair of sweats an old t-shirt and just hang out? I miss pants, as a child I only wore a skirt on Sunday and I'd sit there and squirm around in it for the hour of church. But God has told us that we must wear what pertains to our sex, so pants had to go. I too can come up with plenty of times that I don't agree with God, but who am I to question the Creator? I'm sure my dogs don't agree that I should lock up their food and only dole it out twice a day. I'm sure they think bones should rain from the sky. Just because we disagree with something doesn't mean it's wrong. But I doubt you understand that.

Albeit my understanding may be flawed in your opinion, it's just that; a matter of opinion. Yes, it's based upon biblical fact, but we all have our own interpretations of what it's supposed to mean based upon who's saying what and in which context. The thing I'd like to mention here is that we are both followers in Christ, so based upon that common ground I see no reason to be enemies, even if you are perfect and I'm an unworthy homosexual or unsaved trash, or whatever I'm labeled as. We have our disputes, but so do all good friendships. I mean, even Jesus had disputes with people who were doing things that weren't right (Matthew 21:12-13, Mark 11:15-18, and John 2:13-22), but presumably he still loved them as God would.
Just some food for thought.

Also, sorry to be a bother by double-posting, this just came to mind, but you do realize that that scripture verse, in it's context, is explaining that the prophesies of the scripture don't have the bias of the interpretation of the prophet? We have to interpret it in order to form an understanding of it, so your use of it in that context is in and of itself a paradox. After all, Jesus spoke in parables that we have to interpret to that the people of his day could understand what he was saying. I believe that reading that verse along with the verses that come before and after it explain it itself.
Long story short, context still applies to the Holy Scripture ma'am.
