Actress Ellen Page, who rose to fame playing the role of a teen who got pregnant out of wedlock in the movie
Juno, is the latest Hollywood celebrity to "
come out of the closet."
During an emotional and deeply personal speech on Friday at a conference in Las Vegas aimed at GLBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning) youth, the Canadian actress said she was "tired of hiding" and "lying by omission".
"I'm here today because I am gay. And because ... maybe I can make a difference," Page, who is set to star in the upcoming X-Men instalment with Hugh Jackman, told the audience.
"To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility."
"I also do it selfishly, because I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission."
Well, if she's tired of lying, maybe she should just stop being a lesbian -- then she wouldn't
have to lie! Homosexuality is a sin. It is the result of denying God.
Rom 1:21-26
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
The article continues:
"I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain."
She hopes her revelation will help other young people who are struggling with their sexual identity.
"There are too many kids out there suffering from bullying, rejection, or simply being mistreated because of who they are. Too many dropouts. Too much abuse. Too many homeless. Too many suicides."
Homosexuals don't get any sympathy from me for suffering the natural consequences of their actions. But apparently other celebrities have voiced support for Page.
Following her announcement, celebrities showed their support, among them gay Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson who tweeted: "Love love LOVE @EllenPage & the message she sent out today! What a perfect way to end Valentine's Day!"
Fellow actress Anna Kendrick, 28, also took to Twitter, writing: "Congrats to you, you light, talent, and beauty."
And from American actress Kristen Bell: "So honest & funny & articulate. She shines."
This kind of behavior is predicted in the Bible.
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
These people
know homosexuality is wrong, yet they approve of it anyway. Ellen Page
knows homosexuality is wrong, yet she is leading children astray. And God doesn't like it when adults deceive young, impressionable children.
Mat 18:6-7 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
