Hello Elizabeth! For a moment, I thought you said you were 17, but then realized you were referring to Matthew 3:17! Would be good to remember to write the entire verse title next time.
That's not to say you don't look 17. Do you have your father/brother/betrothed's permission to visit our Godly site? If you aren't betrothed, then goodness, I may have just the son to offload connect you to, for supervised courtship.
Have a nice day and enjoy God's Favorite Forum™!

Hello again Mrs. Mayes,
Not that I am complaining, but could you please start using a real Bible. The one you are using seems to be missing some text. The actual verse as per the infallible Word of God, as given to us in the Holy Bible (KJV 1611), is as follows:
Matthew 3:17
And loe, a voice from heauen, saying, This is my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased.
Of course, you could be referring to a totally different verse in which case my apologies, but you have posted 17 so it could not be Mark 1:11. I, therefore, assume that your Bible is the English Standard Version. Please note that I am in no way being critical of you. I am merely giving advice and it is up to you whether you take it or not.
Proverbs 19:20
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
By the way, does your husband know that you are here?
How many children have you produced to the edification of God?
I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi .. Welcome to the forum.
M atthew 3:17 is a wonderful confirmation, from God Himself, dispelling the doubts so many heathens advertise today. Jesus is God. In the following passage He identifies with God in an unmistakable way:
John 8:57-58 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Simply reading The Bible shows us that Jesus was not having a bad grammar day! Moses had been concerned about the message he received and God was particularly lucid in response:
Exodus 3:13-15 Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Bizarre pseudo-Hebraisms are beyond superfluous. I AM is defined here as God. Could it be more explicitly spelled out? No. I AM is not sorcery or hallucination (Moses could have had just such concerns, read hyperlink to see why) and not some other deity floating down from the moon or inhabiting abstruse limbs on any imagined trees. I AM is God across all time and Jesus knew His audience. That's why He answered, Before Abraham was, I am.
Psalm 103:17-18 The mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; to such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. Of course not everyone accepts God's covenant, not because they've forgotten what it is but because they seek gratification outside His will. Christians do not associate with such people.
In Him,
Mitza.

It is so refreshing to have a straightforward poster! Recently there's been a slippery contributor who thinks he's Eve or several other possibilities including an angel. I already know you understand that no Baptist Church thinks Eve was an angel. And neither do the Methodists. Of course if you bring up the Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons anything is possible 7th Day Adventists Yes, or them. But this post isn't about heretics. Two suitable Bible sites I've found helpful are linked.
The official KJV site has some helpful features and the other one presents texts in a convenient format.

I am not finding anything about how you came to find Jesus; I will have to reserve my welcome until I see your testimony.

Such a shame it’s a married one.

I found pentagrams spray-painted on walls. It was quite the disturbance, especially since I was frequently picked on for not finding Satanism enjoyable. And because of this, I decided to tell my own father about what was happening, in which I had to be home schooled. Keep in mind that I never grew up as a Christian because my father was an Atheist until my mother passed. He then needed a savior. So, he occasionally took me to Sunday and Saturday services. Although Saturday services were late at night. I started to pray to God every night; praising him to help my father. After my mother passed, me and my father began to pray for each other on the day she died.

Thank the Lord your father was saved, Elizabeth? Say, are you skilled at cooking and cleaning for your home? Do you submit to your husband? Do you stone queers when you spot them?

Times of bereavement often present an opportunity for Jesus to take advantage of grief and plant a seed leading to New Life.
Not all seeds grow but watered by God and nourished, a path out of unrighteousness can be shown. All we have to do is follow Him.
Isaiah 55:7-11 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven and returneth not thither but watereth the earth and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
