It's great to hear from you, too, Dotty!
The reason why we expect you to read the Bible in its entirety is because that's why we are here. I guess I thought that you were here to participate in our discussions. Why else would you hang around?
You see, whenever we touch on the concept of banning anything, (or anyone) we always do so from a motivation to fit the world around us into a Biblical mode.
Everything-- and I do mean EVERYTHING -- that we discuss or propose is filtered through the core concept-- What does the Bible have to say about it?
Why are we against certain video games, television shows, gay rights, interracial marriage, reproductive rights for women, mainstream science teachings and wearing cotton-poly t-shirts?
Because we have the Bible to tell us that those things are wrong!
Without the Bible and God's unarguable authority expressed through its words, I wouldn't have a single problem with any of those things that I mentioned.
Except maybe video games because those gamer-types are annoying to even most non-believers. But if it weren't for my position as a True Christian™ member of the Landover Baptist Church Forum, I could just dismiss those gamers as un-showered virgins who think that a healthy diet consists of a mix of regular and cool ranch flavored Doritos.
What do I care if they never get laid or develop the life skills to cope with the world outside their parents' basements? As long as I don't have to stand upwind of them, I would be prepared to live and let live.
Now, according to the Bible, they face a terrible fate after death and there is no "re-spawn" option mentioned its pages. . . Of course, if there were . . . you wouldn't know about it to throw it in my face unless you actually
read its pages!
Think about it, Dotty. Do I not annoy the aitch ee double hockey sticks out of you? Wouldn't it be fun to show me up and shut me down? You could possibly do that if you bone up on the Bible. . . C'mon, you know you want to.
