Hi,

I'm an unsaved catholic and also sometimes read anti-religious philosophy. Is it worse to be a catholic, which seems pretty bad around here, or to sometimes wonder if God exists at all?

Also I wonder how to send private messages so would appreciate advice. I don't know if I can but wanted to ask a moderator a question.

Being a papist is pretty bad, because you worship false Gods. But rejecting God altogether is bad too. You need to repent young lady.

All sins can be forgiven (under the right circumstances) except for one: Blasphemey against the Holy Ghost. Committ that one and no matter what you say or do, you are condemned to eternal hellfire.

I dont understand the worship of false Gods as I thought it was the same one, except that catholics also pray to saints and Mary. Is this the false Gods bit? How does someone repent?

I don't think i've committed Blasphemy yet or maybe I have in wondering if God exists. I didn't think God would mind if I used my brain since he gave me it.

Charm, God is very particular about how He is worshipped.

If you call Him Allah, then you are not worshipping Him. If you call Him Dagon, then you are not worshipping Him.

In fact, if you bring forth the wrong incense for Him, He will react in a most unpleasant manner!

There is a line of thought that says it is better to be an atheist than a papist.

The reasoning is that, with a papist, all his prior belief in weird things and false gods have to be knocked out of him before we can even start on the job in hand of making him a True Christian.

On the other hand, with an atheist, you start with a blank sheet, which is a better place - easy to fill up... or so you'd think.

The argument has a few flaws, (i) At least Catlix have the idea that there might be an Omnipotent, Ineffable, Ominpresent God and (ii) with atheists writing on the blank sheet that is an atheist's mind is like writing on waxed paper; the atheist always screams and moans about logic and proof and other unnecessary things and fails to accept pure blind faith and that the Bible KJV 1611 is the inerrant word of God.

You may have committed blasphemy and not realized it. Questioning God -- the "unbelieving testing of God's nature" -- is the Supreme Blasphemy.

In other words, we know that God can do anything. We also know that infants in Bangladesh contract intestinal diseases and many die. Why does God let babies suffer and die?

The unbeliever says, Perhaps God is uncaring. The unbeliever looks at the suffering and horrors which God allows, and he thinks, Perhaps God is malign, devious; perhaps He is a liar and cheat. The unbeliever looks at the evidence, and in his heart he weighs it against what preachers tell him about God's love and goodness.

But it is not man's place to weigh God's goodness. God is the Judge, and He shall test every man's nature! To seek to reverse the Order, for man to seek to test God's nature, is the Supreme Blasphemy because it is man attempting to be God, and to turn God into a subordinate being.

So if you have seriously questioned God's goodness and love then you may have blasphemed. And that is very bad for you. YOU MUST NOT THINK THOSE THOUGHTS. God requires you to control your mind. If you do not censor your own thoughts, cast out all questioning, then God will damn you to Hell.
