Please pray for tomorrow's hunting. -
02-01-2008, 06:53 PM
I know I'm new here, but I'm awfully worried about tomorrow. I know that the Lord will provide for me if I work hard enough, and I know I should place all of my trust in him so that I may reach my bag limit for ring-necked pheasants. God gave us these beautiful gamebirds so that we may shoot them and turn their flesh into pheasant stew. But, I figure that a prayer request wouldn't hurt.
And for all you PETA and Humane Society hippy HEATHENS, I just want to point out a bible verse for you to think about.
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Of course I'll be praying for yah. Here's to you- Maybe a bear will somehow wander in front of you, so you can shoot it.

I would love to kill a bear! But, there aren't any bears in Illinois, that I know of anyway.

Maybe you should ask Pastor Zeke about it. He's sort of an expert on that kind of thing.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Yes! Pastor Zeke was just telling me he found this little watering whole just filled with the biggest roughest bears east of the Mississippi.

Well now my curiosity (as well as my appetite) is piqued...I shall have to ask him about it when I get a chance.

I almost forgot to let you all know how my hunting went yesterday. Here is a picture of some church buddies of mine and our blessed, bountiful harvest of pheasants (I'm taking the picture).
Praise the Lord!
A baby is a human being, not a stem cell!
Psalm 139:19-20
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

That is quite a bountiful catch, pal. Jesus was obviously guiding the lead that day.
I love bird. Especially chicken.

Beautiful haul, Brother Hackwith!
I do hope you didn't hit any PETA people by mistake. You know how they love to dress up like animals . . . I think they may be furries!

Thanks, it was a blast (literally)! The three of us went out and came back with zero human casualties. Too bad the pheasants didn't fare any better.
We didn't see any PETA members, unfortunately. They were probably off picketing a pet store or something.

This is GREAT! I love a hunting thread. I'm sure it's something All here at LBC can get behind. (I'm not talking about stalking; I'm talking about real hunting, like for animals).
I'm lucky and get to join my dad and uncles on a hunting trip every year to the Walnut Ridge Preserve and Resource Center in Owosso, MI. They have great outings and cabins that your whole party can stay in. If the weather's nice, you can even swim in the nearby creek.
They have:
*Whitetail Hunts
*Sika Deer
*Bird Hunts
*Elk Hunts
And a good selection of French Brittanys, just about the best hunting dog you can get.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Yes, it's about 120mi to lake Michigan. You can drive thru Grand Rapids and check out the falls.
