I like your choice of verse. It is a prime example of why KJV 1611 is the correct version:

KJV
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

NIV
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

The NIV version makes it sound like Paul is considering partaking of the sin on Onan!

Welcome then, Vegetto. I have been to the State of Tennessee before and it is a place full of vile sinners. They are mountain folk there and mostly violent drunks. How have you avoided being killed in a feud?

God's protection brother that is all. God's protection and my bodyguard, servants, security team and 11 acres of land that keep the riff raft from bothering me when I need quiet time to pray or minister to the help.
