That is exactly what the problem is. We want to teach our children Godly Biblical Law, but Pokemon never mentions Salvation, never mentions God, never mentions Jesus, never mentions Hell, never mention Noah's Flood...the list goes on and on. Whatever Pokemon teaches, it is very different from what the Bible teaches. Therefore it is evil. We've gotta stop this ungodly pagan nonsense!
Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
Praised be Your Glorious Name™.
Amen.

It seems you are quite the expert on Pokemon, MarkHenry. I also noted that (as a result?) you don't capitalize "Bible". Coincidence?

I asked around and the Mew pokemon (the genetic parent of Mewtwo) did this actually in the first pokemon movie.

I agree it does not mock the Bible directly. But it contains ghosts like the Gengar, magic beings like Kadabra, large scale genetic manipulation, like how Mews genes where used to create Mewtwo and many other things we consider to be harmful to children. Mostly because these things are against everything the Holy Bible stands for.

They will go to Hell anyway, so you can't possibly say that we add anything significant to the pain and suffering that will already come over them.

Well, as you know, everybody dies - it's God's plan. So by starting a war, all we're doing is helping God. It's kind of like those public-private partnerships that George W Bush was so fond of. You know, like privatized prisons, or Blackwater mercenaries in Iraq. Think of God as our business partner in a joint-venture enterprise to exterminate Japan.

Mew never died, there where others of his kind which died and became fossiles. The DNA from those fossiles where used to create other pokemon.
Mew and Mewtwo are the two basic pokemon, from which all other pokemon came, much like Adam and Eve.
Pokemon also follows the 10 commandments as in "not to kill". Pokemon are never killed, but spared in battle, as a result they can get medical tretment and become well again.
There are many biblical references in pokemon, just look close enough. On the other sidde, this is a game set in the future. You don't know how they use "genes". It may be in no way what you condemn, it may be another use, where humans create the DNA and only observe the sample.
How can you critisize pokemon when you know so little about them. Also I played pokemon and i must say it has no harmfull side-effets and you can't prove that it doesn't! I know because i've played and still had time in he evening to read the bible.
It's like saying "I oppose hunting because it leaves no time for reading the bible while I aim at a deer's head". Of course while you hunt you have no time, but afterwards in the evening you will.

Well, like I already admitted I know little about pokemon.

So we do agree, as I already mentioned before, genetic experiments and genetic manipulation is a big part of pokemon.

I never poisoned someone, yet I think it is a bad thing to do. Not everything has to be experienced to know it is wrong.
We True Christians believe God created everything and we should not be allowed to play God ourselves. As you yourself now admitted pokemon actually teaches children to play God (genetic manipulation) and we believe that is a very bad message to teach kids.

Genesis 3:5: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
notice it says opened, not slanty and barley visible.
I think this makes it quite clear what God's opinion on Japan is.

MarkHenry, I can appreciate your perspective, but at the same time I notice that you are very consistent in not capitalizing the word "Bible". Why is that?
We know these facts now:
- You played / watched Pokemon a lot
- You insist on not capitalizing the word "Bible", thereby confirming the following:
- We claim that Pokemon activity leads to less Bible activity / respect
- You care more about the lives of foreigners than the futures of our children
- You appear to follow your conscience instead of the Bible
You make some rational arguments, that's true, but between the lines you seem to try awful lot to distract us. There are some mixed messages here...
I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen
Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:

I can capitalize Bible, but talking about grammar is distracting people from the topic. One does not have anything to do with the other.
Also that i care about the lives of foreigners... They can still accept Jesus, but if we say: "Lets kill them before they can do that", what good do we do?
And one of the few points I have to agree with you on, and why I have a "red" dot in my status:
I follow my conscience more than I follow the bible.
Now please don't comment on the next few lines, it's just what I believe:
Why should i spend my entire life on earth, following some ideas, if all I get is a chance (not a handwritten and signed in person guarantee) to go to a pretty nice place and if by any chance i missed a small tiny part of "following the lord's word" I will go to hell forever. There is no warning. I'd rather enjoy the here and now because there are 3 choices:
Heaven, since my good will outweigh my bad.
Hell, but I will have pleasent memories and know not all of my existance was wasted suffering.
Eternal Death, I die and that's the end. (Thats what I believe, after I die i will stop existing)
It's my life, it's my risk. If I mess up I go to hell, this will be my punishment, not your's. It's up to everyone to take this risk. I don't blame you for trying to be on the safe side.

Plus about my history with pokemon:
I never watched it on TV, I spend my time with math instead of watching Television.
I only played the gameboy games (the very first ones)
When i grew up I left it all behind me because:
It's for kids, once you grow up you have different things to do (education, social life, earn money).
It's boaring after a while, like a movie you watch for the 100th time.
It was good fun, but really, as a kid you don't think about any deep messages, you just play the game. No higher logic there. You don't think about what effects you driving in your car on a highway has on the ground 1 mile under your car do you? You just drive and that's it.

I know but i just don't want to get off topic.
You should guide children who are younger than 18 (legal age for voting in my country)
Above 18 these people can choose it themselves if they want to play pokemon or not.
In fact... If you place an "R" (restricted) on pokemon articels (games, toys, dvd's) you have your problem solved, kid's won't have access to it, you greatest problem solved. If the parent's buy these things for their kids, well they spoil their kids and you can't controll that really...

That sounds nice and dandy, but it is completely unrealistic. If you see a kid about to cross a dangerous road, do you try to save it's life or do you let it die? If someone is drowning, do you save them or do you let them die?
Exactly, when someone can be saved from death, you save them.
There is however something that is even far worse than death. Eternal damnation to hell. Death is just a fun party compared to that. So why should be save people from death, but stop caring about something far worse than that? Exactly, we won't.

If you worry or not is your choice, as it is my choice if I follow the bible or not. You have my permission to ignore my spiritual wellbeing.
Anyway, how come you guys start talking about pokemon 14 years after its release? It was first made publin 1996. Today is 2010. Why wait so long?

To be honest, I didn't know they existed at all. Me and my family use the evenings to read and debate the Bible. We do not own a TV. We are not outdated though, we have nice computers and I am going to get me an iPad as soon as they become available. It will be nice to read the Bible on one of those things.
