Can the Holy Ghost "ghost" you? -
01-06-2018, 08:38 AM
I'm a little naive to technology. It's so confusing that you'd think its the Devil's work, but God, do we ever need it sometimes, to do His Work and spread the Good News a little faster.
Anyway, recently, I've been sending Bible texts to some of my close friends, hoping Jesus would bring us closer together, but days have gone by and I have not heard a peep! I asked one of my closest girls, Sue Ellen, what is possibly up with them. She told me that I was being "ghosted"? What on God's earth? Ghosts are a real phenomenon according to the Bible:
Ephesians 6:11-12, "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
But my friends are not wandering ectoplasm of the Devil. They are still alive! Flesh and blood and occasional snideness. So how can they be "ghosting" me? Or is Sue Ellen trying to be sly and pull one over me?
Which leads to my greater quandary; does the Holy Ghost really ghost us?
Now let me not make presumptions about the Holy Ghost, as I don't wish to accidentally damn myself to Hell. I know it's a grave infraction to ignore the presence of the Holy Spirit. According to Galatians, the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience ..etc. etc. and that the Spirit lives in us (1 Corinthians 3:16), but there are times I wonder where those qualities that embody the Spirit of Jesus are within me. Like when I try to wait out a 30-second YouTube ad overplaying one of Pastor Deacon Fred's sermons, or when my computer freezes because an unwanted soundbite is clogging up all my RAM, I feel a sudden absence of the Ghost's traits within myself, and I wonder if I've been ghosted! Has anyone felt this terrible sensation? Please, do help Dolli on this matter, as my good Christian female brain can only compute so much, and my patience and peace within starts to wear just a bit thin!!

The Holy Ghost is of us and in us; It is about and around us; It is to us and from us, both below and above. It is through us in a certain sense and by us eternally. Eberhardt Eisendaumen, in his monograph " Gedanken über die ewige Natur des Heiligen Geistes" did suggest that the Holy Ghost was also "across" us, but few find the argument convincing.

Quite seriously, you want to give The Holy Ghost a chance. I mean, The Holy Ghost has a lot of work to do - The Holy Ghost knows where you are and what you are doing - if you have a real need, the Holy Ghost will make its presence known.

This is beginning to sound more and more as if you are suffering a crisis of Faith. This stems from weakness of character and the siren voices of Satan and all his demons. This weakness is in direct contradiction to the God's Own Prayer "And lead us not into Temptation" - you have strayed from the straight path that Jesus has made before you.
(The basis of the problem probably lies in your first paragraph when you thought that it would be a good idea to do something... I don't recall any mention of your first obtaining advice from a Pastor or other responsible male.)

I'm not sure I can fathom about what's going on with the Holy Ghost "ghosting" us, but one thing is certain - you don't want to mess around with the Holy Ghost.
Quote:
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
- Matthew 12:31

It's become popular amongst "atheists" to "prove" the courage of their convictions by publically denying the Holy Ghost (according to Matthew) in what has become known as a "Blasphemy Challenge" - and irrevocably condemning themselves to Hell.
Here is one such individual that did it, and then some time later had some misgivings about it and decided to "retract" it. Sorry, but it's too late.
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
...and get off my lawn

Satan will pretend to be deceased persons for some reason, speaking through trance mediums, psychic trumpets, hallucination and demonic possession, witchdoctors, hindoos, communists (who deny his existence outright, one of his greatest weapons) and new-age gurus obsessing over Atlantis, Nibiru, the constellation Aquarius and designer drugs spruiked to release the inner shaman. "For some reason" means that it hardly seems necessary when he could just use a possessed pop singer to advance a message certain to produce the same result. People who listen to that stuff: the EMO or goth or nancyboy-band or some of those disco revivalists with the electro-funk and dubstep. So many to choose from, so many. Why bother with all the paraphernalia? The Bible does explain about lies but not all mediums are charlatans all the time, even if they think they are. The witch of Endor achieved a spectacular result and The Bible is explicit here.
I SAMUEL .KJV . context
10-16 And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
Anyway, goth or wiccan makes little difference, after the grindcore event what could be better than a good séance? they think. They probably even have girlfriends who can produce ectoplasm, but The Bible doesn't mention ectoplasm so it most likely doesn't exist. Really, it's just an offshoot of the germ theory. Other signs are interest in black nail polish, monkey nails, pewter nose piercings resembling warts, feline contact lenses.
If you have noticed any of these obsessions combined with suggestions that you have ghosts it is time to act. Ask Sue Ellen what she means? She will probably enjoy explaining something to you she thinks you don't know, but of course you do know because you've read The Bible and shared some very appropriate verses with us. You mentioned the possibility of slyness in your daughter. Perhaps a shopping trip? Checkout the addresses of nasal salons and ridiculous fingernail boutiques, alternative clothing dives selling mainly black lace and satin, pewter jewellery for poking through eyebrows, autopsy doll handbags, marcasite rings some of which are quite attractive and stuff. There's bound to be something in the window you like (not the black enamel upside-down crucifix obviously) "Oh, that's rather nice!" you could suggest, stepping back for a closer look.
Her responses will be very informative. If she has had contact with demon possessed types she may also find something in those shops, as you pass by on your pre-planned route, which she likes. It could be a simple pewter wart or beaded scarf BUT it could also be that gender-non-specific sales assistant with dragon tattoos running up both thighs. That would be a sure sign.
Then you will know how to approach the Pastors, or possibly the deaconess, with your concerns about how come Sue Ellen knows so much about ghosts? Is she just pretending to get a reaction? Or is she envenomed with spiritual wickedness in high places? Certainly the principalities & powers target anyone interested in Christianity and if you found some verses demonstrating that to send to your friends I'm sure they'd be only too happy to address darkness of this world with you, unless of course they have been envenomed themselves.
All the best in your efforts and I hope it turns out that Sue Ellen was worth it. We will remember your circumstances in prayer.
