Wow, my heart breaks as i read through this thread. All these "Christians" on here full of so much hate and anger. It's really depressing and heart wrenching as a Christian to see all this hate-mongering. You are being so quick to hate people simply because of how they dress, the music they choose to listen to, or the fact that they like poetry and cemeteries. I know i can't change anything on this forum, but i will express my opinion and try to shed light on as many facts as possible.

To the Goths i would like to say, as a Christian,...or better put, as a follower of Christ, I want to apologize for what you have had to witness here. Please do not take these people as an example of what a true Christian is. They do not speak for all of us and certainly not for God. I know of many true Christians and many churches who are accepting of Goths. Also, as a goth myself, i share in your annoyance.

To the "Christians" let me say, I am a Christian. . . a true Christian and a member in good standing of a Baptist church. However, if I was not already a Christian and people like you were among the first examples I saw of Christianity, I would not want anything to do with it at all! (Thankfully I met Christ first.) I have had many people i have either become friends with, went to school with, or worked with who would not have anything to do with Christianity because of people like you. I am sure you mean well but your attitudes push people away! The way you are acting will send more people to HELL by pushing them away than anything else. People run as hard as they can go toward other religions because of how you act. I have known people who have said "Jesus seems awesome, its the followers i hate." And i agree!! You should feel ashamed! Go on, hang your head! When judgement comes, woe be unto you who were a stumbling block to the people who otherwise would have accepted our Savior! Yes, they may be in sin...but we all are...its not the message thats the problem, its the delivery system!! Just because someone dresses a certain way does not mean anything. I know people who are more evil than any goth I have met who wear suits and ties and hang out in "Wholesome" places such as sporting arenas or the Golf course. If you want someone to listen to you...just like with anything else you want to say, if your kind and just toss it out there people are a lot more likely to respond positively than if you try to force it upon them. I pray that the Holy Spirit convicts your hearts, and shows you that, while some of your ideas may be just, your attitude stinks!

It's refreshing to meet a young person who recognises verses from the OT! Many so-called Christians wrongly believe that the NT trumps the OT.

How about we also read Matthew 6:1-5? It's about people being hypocrites and using prayer to "look good", as though it's a fashion statement:

You don't have to be ashamed to be Christian. That's the point. You just shouldn't have the "look at me, I'm a Christian!!!" attitude. That's taking glory away from God and bestowing it upon yourself.

1) the reason i hang out in cemeteries is because A) its quiet...no one will bother you there. it is FULL of history...i love finding old tombstones and reading epitaphs and seeing the family histories and things like that. C) Funerary art in older cemeteries are works of art...and i don't mean modern art, i mean people took a lot of time and effort to carve many of the statues that we find in cemeteries.D) It help put things in perspective of how fleeting life is and how fragile humans are...it help me shed pride and become more humble. It helps me reflect on many things but above all, the reason Christ came and the fact that for us believers the grave is not the end.

PS Your "Witches and satanists" argument is invalid because they also hang out at the mall, library, sporting events, grocery store, etc. and they are not the only groups who go to cemeteries.

2) i don't in any way shape or form dress like a harlot. Some of your own women on this very site have profile pictures up that look much more whoreish than ANY goth i hang around with.
