Unfortunately, you misunderstood Matthew 7:1-5. These verses are a warning against hypocritical judgment, not judgment in itself. Jesus is saying we cannot judge others when we are guilty of the same sin. Let's look at the verses.

I also noted you did not quote verse 5 which clearly explains that you can judge.


1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

This basically says if you judge others, you will be judged accordingly. This makes sense. Of course, I can judge others and I welcome Christ to judge me, because I am free of sin. He can judge me all He wants.


3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

This means hypocrisy. How can you judge another man for cheating on his wife when you do the same?


4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Again, hypocrisy.


5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Now read this last part very closely. This tells us that we can judge others! Jesus is saying to remove your own sin first, then you can judge others.

How can you say this is a prohibition against all judging? Jesus makes it crystal clear that we cannot judge if we are hypocrites, and that to do righteous judgment instead.

And I'm sure He will judge you. He will judge everyone here in fact. As to whether we will like that judgement we shall see. I didn't put verse 5 because it didn't show up in my search on biblegateway.com. A site recommended to me by one of your pastors here btw.

When you accept Christ as your savior, your sins are removed from you. That is what His temporary sacrifice was for. Is this not Good News? To know that you won't have to be damned for Hell for all of eternity, but that Jesus Christ loved you so much as to died for you? GLORY!

If you are a True Christian(tm), you cannot possibly sin:

1 John 3:6:
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

This is because our sins our forgiven by the atoning Blood of the Lamb:

Ephesians 1:7:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

If we now look at Matthew 7 again:

Matthew 7:1-5:

You see, Jesus tells here not to "behold the mote in our brother's eye" (judge him) when we still have a "beam in our own eye" (still are guilty of sins ourselves).

However, if the "beam is cast out of our own eye," which means that our sins are compensated for, which has happened by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we will be able to "see sharp" (which means we see with the eyes of Christ, Galatians 2:20) to "cast out the mote of our brother's eye" (judge him).
