Surely these are the End Times -
11-08-2012, 08:25 AM
This morning, as is my wont, I randomly opened my bible to see what wisdom the Lord would show me to enable me to steel myself for day ahead.
The first time I opened it, it opened at 2 Esdras chapt 15. As I read I became more and more disturbed as I saw that great storms were mentioned:
38 And then shall there come great stormes, from the South, and from the North, & another part from the West.
39 And strong winds shal arise from the East, and shall open it, and the cloud which hee raised vp in wrath, and the starre stirred to cause feare toward the East and West winde, shalbe destroyed.
40 The great and mightie cloudes shall be lifted vp full of wrath, and the starre, that they may make all the earth afraid, and them that dwel therein, and they shall powre out ouer euery high and eminent place, an horrible starre.
41 Fire and haile, and fleeing swords, and many waters, that all fields may be full, and all riuers with the abundance of great waters.
42 And they shal breake downe the cities, and walls, mountaines and hils, trees of the wood, and grasse of the medowes, and their corne.
What most disturbed me was that this paralled the super storm sent by the Lord to destroy the den of iniquity known as New York.
Having completed the chapter I was then drawn to read Matthew Chapt 24 and found similar verses telling of wars and famine and disease:
6 And yee shall heare of warres, and rumors of warres: See that yee be not troubled: for all these things must come to passe, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdome against kingdome, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diuers places.
Reading this made me think, Is this the End of Times?
Isaiah 66:15
For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

I suggest you burn your Cathlic "Bible" and get a 1611 KJV. You can't draw any reliable conclusions about the end times from an apocryphal book. But if you think these are the end times, then it's all the more reason for you to repent of your papish idolatry and make peace with Jesus quickly lest you be cast into the lake of fire with all the billions of other Cathlics.
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Sir with all due respect the verses are directly from the KJV 1611 in the original english language used at that time. I would never dream of spouting papery.

I know Matthew is in the KJV, but you mentioned 2 Esdras, which speaks of a storm. You then tried to draw a parallel with the storm that hit NY recently. 2 Esdras is not part of the canon of Scripture. It has no prophetic value to us.

Yes, 2 Esdras is in the 1611 KJV, but it is non-canonical. It is not divinely inspired. It says as much in the foreword to the 1611 KJV. I don't know why you put so much faith in what 2 Esdras says. That's why I assumed you were reading a Cathlic Bible: Cathlics believe the apocrypha. That combined with your comments in other posts about altars and priests and other papish things. Don't burn your 1611 KJV. Just take what you read in the apocryphal books with a grain of salt.

This is sound advice. The problem with the Apocrypha is that it comes at the end. This means that God must have been getting pretty weary dictating KJV1611 to King James, who, scholars now find, wrote rather slowly.
So we see King James with wrist-ache and sleep deprived scribbling away at these Books, and God must have said to Him, "Look, James, here's what I have to say, [recites entire apocrypha] just write that down will you? I have a plague to send and a man with a headache to cure miraculously."
And here we see the weakness of man - he hears the Voice of the Lord yet so magnificent and awe-inspiring are those Words that he misses a few or gets the gist but not the detail.
Thus is the Apocrypha, which was, as you correctly point out, part of the original KJV1611. It was later that God came unto King James and said, "I've reviewed your attempt at the Apocrypha, I can't give you more than 5 out of 10, so leave that bit out, but people can read it if they want - only don't rely on it to get to Heaven."
And so it is.
The verses you quote are pretty accurate, the storm and then Obama - what more do we need to know that the End of Times approaches and the wise will repent?

Friend, we were reading Luke last evening. May I remind you of these verses?
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21:25-28
But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
~Matt. 10:33
