Apologies to me are unimportant. It is our LORD you offend, knave. We reached out in the love of Christ only to find that now you allow the demonic strains of some pop rock band into your home? Are you aware of the fact that the bass in non-Christian music affects your cerebrospinal fluid, causing it to gyrate and fool your body into thinking it is engaging in the marital act? We have medical doctors and psychologists here that can explain it far better than I, but aren't you concerned about your cerebrospinal fluid?

This is the ideal weekend to die to sin and be reborn in Jesus. Not a physical death, but the death of darkness, which is replaced by soothing peace and cleansing of the spirit.

I can only protest, in my defence, that Stryper are a Christian band. And I'm fairly confident they've never sent anyone's s#x juices on a wild goose chase. At least I can't imagine anyone having such a response to them, or their music. Praise the Lord.

But I do see your point, and will spend a few hours in contemplation of my path. Bless your heart.

Thank you, good lady. I've never thought Stryper could show me the way. Or any way, for that matter. I simply revel in Christian Rock, when possible. It tells of love of the Lord in a Youthful and Now voice, but has the edge smoothed off to avoid incitement of unbridled feelings. Why, I can attend such a 'gig', and not once find a toe tapping of its own volition ... that's what I call a safety dance!

While the results of investigations are held on a need to know basis by the Investigations Ministry, I don't think I need to actually read the report to know that the investigation of this man is going badly. As always, I was hopeful when this man appeared, but even then there were red flags. I believe this man is on the road to perdition and has just stopped by to make sport of us as he passes.

I never make sport of the Lord, Sir. Certainly, I've been known to toy with unbelievers in my time. I'm entirely unaware of inadvertent sport at the expense of the Lord's flock. Is it so difficult to believe that a believer might find inspiration in the bevelled edges of Christian Rock, as opposed to chapter and verse? Why must this approach necessarily equate to mockery? I'm the first to admit that Christian Rock can be confronting in it's willingness to go almost to the outer edges of the borders of the margins of secular rock music, but that does not mean it promotes mockery. I think what's happening here is that you see me champion Christian music, and think .... ROCK MUSIC! code yellow!

Mr. Dirt,

I'll try to explain this for you. We know the Bible was written by our Lord. That is why it can be trusted always and entirely. The lyrics and hormonies of Rock were not written by our Lord. It is possible that the authors of these musings FEEL that they are inspired by our Lord Jesus but more often they are not. They fall into the category that the Bible warns us against.

Psalms 127:1
(A Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Now this is written in metaphor in order to be applicable to various situations, such as false music. Basically God's word is the house built by Jesus and your music is the exception that is not built by Jesus, thus it is vanity. In contrast. God's Word is not vanity.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

What is profitable? Things that take you to Heaven. You can take up a musical hobby there if it pleases you.

You may well be right (I am not in a position to know), but is it not reasonable to think that, if lively beats bring Youth to our churches, it can only be a good thing? True, once tightly embraced within the church bosom, it behoves these Youth to expand their understanding - but as a device to harvest Young souls for the Lord? Why, it almost can't be beaten!


Still, I accept what you say in my own interest, and appreciate your concern. I begin to see that resting on Rock laurels is not going to cut it with the Lord long term.
