i actually read this whole topic. A lot of hate and one-sidedness here. I came to this site to talk to fellow believers about things that matter, i should have looked over the site more before i made an account. Much hate for a site for Gods people. And its truly saddening that you believe that this game (out of all the games you could of possibly picked like DOOM) is the work of Satan? Some of the things you people are saying is just plain reaching out just to bash on things. Like someone said, its no different then legos. Are you to tell me that takings your kids to Lego land is putting them in a bed situation?

Many lessons from the Bible are delivered to the player through intuitive immersion: For example, the player learns through trial and error to build his shelter on solid rock instead of falling sand, much as we should build our lives on the rock of Jesus. The Biblical themes of solidness of rock and righteousness of light are central to Minecraft's gameplay. Even the most Secular of gamers will have these values instilled in them effortlessly without realizing they are learning the Gospel.

Another Biblical theme is Spiritual Warfare. Eventually the player is able to craft armor and a sword. This is necessary to survive the scariest of the demons, the creeper, which can silently sneak up on you and explode. teaching the player the value of putting on the Full Armor of God in order to engage demonic powers (Ephesians 6:10-18)

oh and at my church we have a computer room for the kids (supervised) and they have this game on all the computers so the kids can make stuff.....And guess what..50% of the stuff they make is bible related, the other just simple houses and stuff.

Too much manipulation of the genetics (altering species) could be delving into issues reserved for the Designer.

How did you manage to take a simple building game, like minecraft, and turn it againsted everyone? You are afraid of your child following someone then becoming a sex slave. Well then why don't you step up to the plate, and not let him/her play? You are all being very selfish. Minecraft is about creating things. But like every other thread, you use pictures from deviantart, that adults have made, and claming that corrupted children did it. And how does it have ANY effect on the economy? Many of us here are parents, and as True Christians™, we appreciate the time and effort our Brothers and Sisters here take to inform us of the many dangers to our children that Satan has put forth in this world to trip them up.

I don't think anyone needs to read the bible in order to know it doesn't talk about the economy. Yes, it mentions tax collectors and the like but no where does it say playing a simple game ruins the economy.
