I spent yesterday in Minnesota, up in the town of Sauk Rapids.
Mayor Brad Gunderson called me late in the night and I didn't hesitate--was on my way in a few minutes.
I just don't understand what is going on in this country. The government closest to the people, local government, should be treated with respect. Instead, low life police officers and sheriff deputies see that Mayors are fed alcohol in their soft drinks and lie in wait to nail them with Driving While Intoxicated. In this case, someone drove him off the road.
I prayed with the Mayor, talked to the prosecutor and pleaded his case with the judge. This was a case I lost. Brad thanked me and started preparing for the end of his career.
I'll say it again, people should have more respect for their local elected officials.
