How do We at Landover Baptist Explain the Meaning of Life -
01-01-2018, 04:54 PM
Here in Freehold I'm around town a lot and people ask me questions. Some questions would be better asked of our pastors, but since since they are seen as quite lofty figures perhaps people are a little intimidated. I know pastors would help them if asked.
A question that comes up from young people is, "Mayor, what is the meaning of our lives?"
I answer the question by quoting Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Load."
I go on and explain briefly that our purpose is first to gain access to Heaven by believing in Jesus. Then, the scripture tells us others need to know their sin will bring them death. We need, I tell young people, to point out sin in others. Our lives are not to just run out the clock until Heaven but to, for example, approach two men holding hands in public and quote to them Romans 6:23.
I'd like others here at Landover Baptist, including our pastors if they wish, to give me further guidance on answering this question.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Thank you for posting that question. The answer, as usual, is simpler than people with secular mindsets make it out to be. No one even has to visit an unsaved guru on a mountaintop; instead, God in His mercy (Ephesians 2:4) has placed the answer as close as your King James Bible.
The meaning of life is to please God by fearing Him and keeping His commandments:
Revelation 4:11 KJV: 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.
This relationship with God satisfies any saved person:
Psalm 17:15 KJV: 15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Psalm 73:25 KJV: 25 Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire beside thee.
As you note, one of God's commandments is to share this good news with others:
Ezekiel 3:18-19 KJV: 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Mark 16:15 KJV: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
So despite what liberal false Christians at "churches" like the UCC (Unitarians Considering Christ) may tell you, God does not want us to affirm sodomania and other "alternate lifestyles"—quite the opposite, in fact.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

I'm not from Landover so perhaps this isn't my place but I'll go ahead and give my personal explanation on the meaning of life.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The purpose of living is to live according to God's will to prove how much we love him. When I used to be a faggot, I never realized at the time how much of God's love I was missing out on when I was subconsciously thinking about phallic objects and other men. I thank God for showing me the way.
With this said, I am truly grateful that we have a Godly president Trump who will lead the people of the USA, nay, THE WORLD how to live your life with purpose BY FOLLOWING GOD'S WILL! Not like that stupid smelly Shillary Clinton or the nigra we used to have in office. The past eight years of being lead by a monkey has made a lot of people, especially millennial a, forget their purpose for living. Trump will fix that soon enough.
