Yes. God is giving commands as to how we should live. He commands that, if he find sodomites, the appropriate response is to put them to death. He has judged the sinners, and found them worthy of death. Praise Him!
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

READ THE BIBLE, YOU INSUFFERABLE MOR ON! He commands time and time again that we - his followers - are to kill people in His name. What do you think should be done with witches? Disobedient children?

insufferable mormon? that's a nice touch, seriously, have you read like, one verse from the Bible? and that is it? I own A Bible, I own many. Do you?
witches, eh? most of the people burned for being "witches" were indeed not that at all. People saw something that they didn't understand and sought to blame it on something. So They burned innocent people, calling them witches. Humans Fear What They Do Not Understand, and Kill What They Fear.

Yes. I own one Bible. That is all you need. Owning multiple "bibles" doesn't make you more righteous, it only makes you more confused.

I asked you a straight question. Two straight questions, in fact. And you just refused to answer them. So I'll ask again:
What do you think should be done with witches? Disobedient children?
What does God say should be done with witches? What does God say should be done with disobedient children?

God. You guys make me sick.
Flaunting body count, saying that "God told us to kill".
No. God told you NOT TO KILL.
You sit here, spouting verses, thinking that they mean something. Leviticus? No. Have you actually READ Leviticus? They tell us that BUNNIES are sinful. And Hamburgers are the work of the devil. Can't forget about mixed fabric being a sin against the Lord.
Look at the shirt you're wearing. Is it 100% Cotton? I'm willing to be that it's a polyester blend, or something of the sort.
So, by listening you what you are saying, you are just as bad as homosexuals. You will burn in eternal hellfire. Because you wore a shirt made of mixed fabric.
Logical, isn't it?
And Brother Temperance? I thought that you were being "as resonable as possible." Huh. Because calling people who are giving you a legitimate argument, and being mature, "Insufferable mormons" is being reasonable. Righty-O, then.
And you're telling US to read the bible? You don't understand any of it.
Quote the bible all day. You'll find a few verses that support the hatred you have for anyone that isn't exactly the same as you.
Love. Tolerance. Acceptance. That message is preached throughout the bible.
You blame people who want to love and welcome everyone, regardless of "sins" for the place that the world is in today.
Isn't that what christianity is all about? Loving and accepting everone, regardless of their "sins". That is what God would do. And what Jesus would do.

It is okay for us to kill when GOD says it's okay for us to do so.
"And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp." -Numbers 15:35
Also check out Exodus 32:27 and 1 Samuel 15:2-3
As True Christians, who follow the whole Bible, we know for a fact when GOD is talking to us, and when He is not. I would have no reservations about stoning homosexuals, burning witches and otherwise slaying the opponents of the LORD if I felt that's what He wanted me to do.

"we know for a fact when GOD is talking to us, and when He is not."
Do have any idea how many people thought that God was talking to them, and then went off and killed dozens of people And then they were diagonosed with a mental disease.
God isn't telling you stone homosexuals. He isn't telling you to burn witches, or to kill enemies. He tells us to LOVE OUR ENEMY.

100% cotton. Imported from Georgia, handmade and homegrown, as I know the family. They keep several poorer folks employed picking and weaving the cotton. Brilliant white! You just don't get quality like that from China! That's because God goes into the work, not communism.
Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Having read the entire Bible, I know that the Jewish food laws were repealed by God in Acts 10. The prohibitions against sodomy, on the other hand, are only repeated in the New Testament, never changed or repealed.

Not even the atheists think that. According to the secular humanists, the Bible has 271 passages promoting positive moral values, compared to 885 focusing on cruelty and violence, and 564 promoting intolerance (although I'm prepared to admit there may be some overlap between those two categories. Care to rethink your Biblical analysis?

No, Christianity is about loving and accepting everyone who is willing to repent of their sins. Do you think Jesus accepts unrepentant sinners? What about those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit? What about those who don't believe in Jesus?

Now, are you willing to admit you could be wrong.

If we can't trust that the impressions and feelings we experience aren't GOD, then what CAN we trust? How can we trust that the Bible is the truth?
We have faith, and you cannot take that away from us. We have every right to practice our religion the way we see fit, and if it weren't for secular laws and liberal judges, we'd be stoning you folks to death in the town squares like GOD's original design.

I can't do this anymore.
You have completely destroyed my faith in humanity.
And God.
Thinking that God would actually say this, and then tell you to believe it...
I can't. And I won't.
Call yourself better people because you want to stone someone. Do that.
I will sit here, and I will be the loving, tolerant, accepting person that I am.
And if God really is real, and there really is Judgement Day, then we'll see who gets into the kingdom of heaven. The one who loved everyone and accepted them, no matter what, or the people that hated everyone who didn't see eye to eye on every single issue.
"Have you noticed how we post scripture to support our claims, and you don't? Funny, that..." -Brother Temperance.
Look at the other posts. I know for a fact that Almost_Ashamed gave you scripture.
I just can't do this anymore. Be happy that I used to be a believer. I did, I believed with all of my heart. Then things happened, and I lost some of my faith. The part that I still had was lost, reading this forum.
Seeing how "believers" deal with opposition on issues that many people have already accepted, it took away any hope that I might've had that this world might be okay.
